Greenpark A, Lincoln A and Broadfield A are all tied on 10 points after three games of the second round. While it is the third round which will determine the champion this season, the three teams have separated themselves from the rest of the pack after trading victories in the early part of the season. Greenpark A and Lincoln A will do battle on Saturday. Greenpark A will be looking to bounce back after drawing 50-50 with their Greenpark B clubmates in their previous game. Greenpark A beat defending champions Lincoln in round one to add plenty of spice to the season after Lincoln had won the title unbeaten last year. Broadfield A cruised past Southbridge B 56-34 while Lincoln A overpowered Southbridge A 64-51. Lincoln A coach Vanessa Robinson said she felt her team was much improved from the team which played Greenpark A in round one. “We are slowly improving,” she said. “Our attack end is going really well, we just have to stop putting them under pressure like we have been.” Robinson said she was looking for a lift in intensity during the match. “We do need to create more turnovers in the defensive third but we are certainly coming back. The confidence is there and a result this weekend could be just what we need.” Southbridge A will face Southbridge B and Broadfield A will battle with Greenpark B on Saturday. •Points table: Greenpark A 10, Broadfield A 10; Lincoln A 10, Greenpark B 6, Southbridge A 0, Southbridge B 0. •More sport, page 23 SPORTS IN TRAFFIC: Southbridge B goal defence Paris Nurse looks to pass into space, while Southbridge B’s Janaya Clarke catches the ball.
