<strong>Swaffham</strong> Community Hospital LOFs<br />
After some negotiations with the Hospital Trust, we<br />
are pleased to confirm that we have approval to<br />
proceed with a major revamp of the gardens at the<br />
rear of the Hospital. The existing gardens are in need<br />
of some TLC but also have become a bit “tired”. The<br />
opportunity has arisen for us to be more ambitious<br />
and go for a major revamp. We wish to reflect a<br />
“Market Town “ theme including some market type<br />
stalls. We will build a new garden gazebo with open<br />
sides with new seating for patient and relatives to<br />
use. The garden will include a variety of ground<br />
surfaces which enables those with walking difficulties<br />
to relearn skills. We aim to keep the garden overall<br />
as effective as possible to maintain. Once the work<br />
is complete (late Summer) we will be holding an<br />
open day with stalls and refreshments to welcome<br />
members of the public as well as relatives, to see<br />
what has been achieved. Dates will be confirmed<br />
later. I hope at the time you will be able to come.<br />
Our funds received a very welcome boost from the<br />
proceeds of a sponsored walk undertaken by staff<br />
and others from the Pedlars Gold shop in <strong>Swaffham</strong>.<br />

As we do hold raffles and events it is always helpful<br />
to receive any unwanted items that you may like to<br />
donate. These can either be left at Hospital Reception<br />
or if you ring me I can collect.<br />
We have been very lucky in securing the return of<br />
the Imperial Vienna Orchestra for the afternoon<br />
of Sunday 22d July. This will be there third visit to<br />
<strong>Swaffham</strong> and we anticipate yet another sellout. The<br />
title this time is “The Beautiful Galatea” a concert<br />
performance and Comic Opera. So don’t delay...<br />
Tickets at £12 are available from Ceres bookshop,<br />
Just Hair. Or members of the League of Friends.<br />
There will be refreshments and a raffle. Lets hope<br />
we get a nice weather day and get the doors open.<br />
A further reminder our Annual Street collection will<br />
be on Saturday 1st September.<br />
