‘Moments’ by Alexis Ffrench is a delicate narration of life’s journey. The
beautiful, playful melodies portray the light, whilst this contrasts against the
darkness which is told through a passionate yet somewhat deeply sad
undertone.
UK contemporary pianist and composer Alexis Ffrench has marked his return
with the exceptional new single ‘Moments’, taken from his brand new studio
album Evolution - out in September via Sony Music.
This big announcement comes ahead of his scheduled performance at this
year’s Classic BRIT Awards on June 13th at The Royal Albert Hall, where Alexis
will be accompanied by fellow Sony Classical opera singer Pretty Yende, both
backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, showcasing Alexis to the
masses.
A stunning new album that sees Alexis propel himself to yet further heights,
Evolution features a host of guests, from international classical harpist Lavinia
Meijer and Boston-based electro folk duo Tall Heights; to The City of Prague
Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Adam Klemans.
Speaking of the themes and meaning behind the new album, Alexis Ffrench
says; “Evolution’ is inspired by the extremes and inherent fragility of the
human experience - loss, love, birth, sorrow, vulnerability, triumph and despair
but, above all, our ability to come through adversity and radiate the best
versions of ourselves. This album explores the beauty that lies beneath and
the truths that bind us.”
And of the beautiful new track ‘Moments’, Ffrench notes: “Moments is a piece
that was conceived out of hundreds of tiny fragments that I would hum, record
and collate on my phone. The melodies kept coming back to me, and as I
assembled the many fragments like a jigsaw puzzle, and expanded on themes
at the piano I found I had composed a dark, French-Nuovo piece that I had
really fallen in love with.”
With over 75 million streams to date and now over a million active Spotify
listeners a month, Alexis Ffrench is already an established star in the
streaming world, leading the way for the new generation of classical artists,
with his music speaking to a very wide and diverse audience and transcending
