UPCOMING EVENTS AND NEW INFORMATION 

We always are looking for new members to throw a helping hand in to 

make our neighborhood better! 

Some interest has been expressed in a walk around the lake we have 

adjacent to our commons area.. Your MUD has complete control over that 

area, please call and petition the MUD to add this feature to our area. It 

could be a great value adding feature. 

THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS! 

We would like to build a bank of volunteers to help with various activities 

throughout the year! Poolside holiday events, National Get Out and Meet Your 

Neighbors night. Your time and effort will be greatly appreciated by all! The 

more volunteers we have, the more events that can take place. Events that are 

meant to bring our community together just don’t happen without these folks 

who give up their time and efforts for you. Unfortunately, they are many times 

taken for granted, when in fact, they are much appreciated by the Board. 

WE ARE LAKESIDE RESIDENTIAL 

HOA meetings held the 1 st Monday of the month at 6:30 PM. (Unless 

Monday is a holiday, then will meet the following evening.) HOA meetings 

will be held at the Cypress Crossing Christian Church, located at 15751 

Cypress Rosehill Road, Cypress, Texas 77429. Executive Board meeting will 

follow regular homeowners meeting. 

Residents who will be present for the Board meeting are asked, if they have 

any questions or concerns prior to the Board meeting to please advise 

Sarie, so that she may prepare and direct questions and concerns in a 

timely manner to the Board of Directors before the executive session. You

We live in a development known as Villages of Cypress Lakes. Your 

community is Lakeside. Our website is Lakesideresidential.com. By- 

Laws, Deed Restrictions, Pool hours and card applications, a map of the 

community showing sections by number, streets and entrances are all 

there to better help you with your inquiries as well as responsibilities as a 

home owner. 

All payments made to the HOA should be made out to Lakeside Residential. 

KID ACTIVITIES 

We, as a community, have just a few amenities. We have a Pool, a Splash 

pad for small children, a playground for small children. We have nothing 

for teenagers or tween-agers 12 to 18. If you have any suggestions it would 

be greatly appreciated. 

What can we, as a community, do to give our kids activities they can be a 

part of, enjoy and be clean, courteous involvements. Remember, these are 

your kids. We all meet every month on the first Monday. Bring your ideas.

HEY NEIGHBOR… 

We live in a neighborhood governed by a HOA. That means that as 

homeowners, we agree to abide by rules and restrictions intended to 

keep our neighborhood in good shape, to keep our property assessments 

rising and to provide a platform for all neighbors to voice concerns about 

any apparent discrepancies that may diminish your home value. 

Whether we agree with the deed restrictions and covenants or not, the 

rules and guidelines already exist. As members of the association, owners 

are responsible for the upkeep on their properties and following the 

guidelines of landscaping, paint, fencing and of course most importantly 

being a good neighbor. Homeowners are required to maintain their 

properties, while not making changes without approval. When you need 

to replace a fence, do it, but it must be an exact replacement; Not taller, 

not shorter, nor a different style. The community must look consistent 

and well planned. This concept is appealing to new buyers and it also 

makes for good neighbors, etc. A few of the most common HOA rules 

that apply to all of us are: 

• Vehicle storage is not allowed on your lot, please have current 

registration stickers on all your vehicles. They are supposed to be 

drivable. Covering with tarps won’t help! The disabled cars parked in 

the driveway are in violation of HOA guidelines and will initiate letters 

to homeowner. Any disabled vehicle parked on the street is a county 

offense and should be reported to the Constable. 

• Inspect your fence for any missing or damaged fence pickets, we are 

required to maintain and replace pickets as they deteriorate and fail 

• Mow your lawn and edge the walks. It is required of every homeowner. 

• Trashcans are not to be visible from the street. Place at curb the night 

before only on garbage pickup days and retrieve the collection day by 

nightfall. 

• When you order new cable or satellite service, remind the installer that 

you live in a HOA and there are restrictions All of the installers are aware 

of all restrictions and will gladly install correctly if they understand that 

you are concerned about your HOA and therefore your home value. 

• Door and or trim painting must be approved by via ACR, you can 

retrieve an ACR form through the lakesideresidential.com website.

SUPPORT YOUR HOA (HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION) 

The Meeting of all homeowners and the elected Board of Directors is at 

the Cypress Crossroads Church, 15751 Cypress Rosehill Rd. on the first 

Monday of the month. If the first Monday is a holiday, then the meeting is 

held the next day, Tuesday. 

You can find the meeting dates at Lakesideresidential.com. The minutes of 

the meetings, as well as governing documents, forms, community events, 

etc. can be found on the website for homeowner review. 

Please, come to the meetings and get involved. Together, we can make 

improvements to our community and enjoy a more pleasant life among 

neighbors. 

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR. 

Whether you’re a homeowner and therefore a member of the Association 

or a renter, the deed restrictions of Lakeside apply to you. We all want our 

neighborhood to look good, feel like home and keep up the value of our 

properties. Many of us moved here to get out of the city and city-like areas 

that aren’t quite up to the standards we want to set for our families and 

kids. We need to keep it that way! 

Association by-laws, deed restrictions, Architectural changes, etc can be 

found on our website Lakesideresidential.com. 

Whether at a Board meeting, email, phone or one-on-one conversations, 

there are a number of requests and complaints that come from the 

neighborhood residents, both members and non-members alike. Most of 

these can be summed up into: 

• Keep down the noise! Barking Dogs, loud music. 

• Walk your dog, respect other folk’s yards, take along your “poo-pickup” 

bags and clean up the mess. 

• Speaking of yards, clean them up. Plant new, remove old. Mow as needed 

to keep the neighborhood looking well kept and desirable to live in. 

• Power wash that mildew off your house. 

•SLOW DOWN!!! This is a neighborhood! 30 MPH may be too fast. The kids 

on the street are much more important than any excuse for fast and or 

reckless driving. Tell your teen drivers that you expect them to love and 

respect the neighborhood.

response is difficult. If its not an emergency, please bring it to the Board 

meeting. Don’t let issues loiter and become bigger than need be. 

The day to day management of the community is FirstService. The website 

to find any information about your account and general community

Your business account, all bookkeeping, Architectural change 

request form is there as well. 

The Board of Directors communicates through the management company. 

All concerns should be sent through FirstService. All communications 

require your Email address to respond. There are other documents that go 

out to you prior to each monthly meeting to keep you up on what we will be 

discussing. Texas law leaves the responsibility of correct Email addresses 

to the homeowner. Please contact FirstService to ensure that we can keep 

you informed. 

ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE 

So you’d like to build an igloo or paint your house red and blue to pay 

tribute to your favorite sports team? These are easily identified as requests 

that would not be allowed in our neighborhood. But what are the kinds 

of things for which you need to submit a request for approval to the HOA? 

Basically, if you are making a change to your home or yard, you are required 

to submit a request. Some common requests are: 

• Installing a pool 

• Replacing windows, doors or shutters 

• Building a covered patio 

• Installing a storage unit 

• Installing an irrigation system 

• Replacing your roof 

• Painting your home/trim 

• Removing/replacing the trees in your front yard 

• Landscaping change in your front yard 

All requests are processed in a timely manner. If you have not 

received a timely response, please reach out to a Board member 

or your FSR contact person…. 

Keep in mind that approval may take up to 30 days - plan ahead! 

Submit your application early, so that your project is not delayed. 

The ACC committee is made up of volunteers and our goal is to 

provide a beautiful and consistent look to our neighborhood. 

REPLACING YOUR FENCE. This one is a little more complex. If you 

are replacing your fence with EXACTLY the same fence (in the same 

place with the same size boards and the same pattern), then you 

don’t need HOA approval. However, if you are CHANGING anything 

- the pattern of the fence (including installing rot board at the 

bottom), moving it, adding a gate or changing the material of your 

fence, then you need approval of the HOA. 

CONSTABLE PATROL 281-376-3472 

As a reminder, the Association has a patrol contract with Harris 

County Precinct 4 Constable, through MUD 391. Please add the 

dispatch number to your cell phones or post in a visible place 

at home in case you need support in a non-life threatening 

situation. If you don’t call to report a crime or suspected criminal 

activity in progress or suspicious persons or vehicles, no arrests 

will be made, the crime or criminal activity will continue and 

the Constable’s Office will not know that anything is going on. 

The social communities that we use to communicate with each 

other is NOT monitored by the constables. Posting on any media 

site is not notification to get assistance. Yes, we have those rare 

occasions where a Deputy, by pure luck, drives up on a crime or 

suspicious activity in progress. But why rely on luck when you 

have a telephone? The number to call is 281-376-3472. If there is 

a life threatening emergency, call 9-1-1. The Constable Patrol also 

offers a free vacation watch service, keeping your home under 

watch while you’re away.

LOITERING AND VANDALISM 

Please help us to keep our recreation areas safe and clean by reporting 

any and all loitering after dark directly to the Constable at 281-376-3472. 

Please also remember to report any suspicious persons walking around the 

community or at the parks immediately to the Constable Patrol. Don’t call the 

management co or HOA Director, We’re NOT the law! Better safe than sorry! 

TRASH CANS 

BEST TRASH is the service for Lakeside Residential, your community. 

They can be contacted 281-313-2378. Check their website for holidays, 

remembering they will pick up on the next regular pick up day. 

• Please do not put trash out before the night before trash day and be sure 

to pick them up after collection. 

• Trashcans make the streets look very messy when not out for pick-up. 

• Trash cans have the most violation letters sent out. 

• Remember to place trashcans in the garage, backyard or behind a barrier 

by the house, that looks nice and hides the can. The new barrier must hide 

cans from street and be acceptable. Cans just stored by your house will get 

you a compliance violation letter. 

TEENAGE JOB SEEKERS 

If you are between 12 and 18 and would like to be added to the teenage job 

seeker’s list, please fill out the form on our website (www.krenekprinting. 

com, click submissions and choose Jobseekers) with your name, birthdate 

(mo. & yr.), phone number, year you will graduate and the name of your 

newsletter/subdivision. Check the list of jobs you want on your form. 

Please make sure your email is correct, we send emails in the summer to 

make sure all the info is still good and that you want to stay on the list. If 

we do not hear back from you after 3 tries, we will remove you from the list

Copperfield Bible Church is hosting Vacation Bible School for children 

from 5 to 11 years old. The theme of this year’s VBS is Big Heart Farms 

- Where God’s Fruit Grows. Children will learn more about the fruit of 

the spirit, memorize verses, sing songs, play games and make fun crafts. 

There is no charge for VBS, but space is limited. Registration is on a firstcome,

CAMP CORNERSTONE 

The place to be this summer for ages 2 through completion of 4 th grade! 

Camp Cornerstone is a week-long camp sponsored by Cornerstone 

United Methodist Church and is for children ages 2 through the 

completion of 4 th grade. Children must be 2 by June 1, 2018. Camp

SUMMER VOCAL PERFORMANCE CAMP JULY 9 TH -13 TH 

The Houston Choral Society (HCS), in conjunction with Foundry United Methodist Church, 

announces its 2018 Summer Vocal Performance Camp - “Voyages of the Voice Finders” for 

elementary and middle school students. The camp runs July 9-13, 2018, from 9 AM to Noon at 

The Foundry United Methodist Church in northwest Houston. This one-week camp is divided into 

two separate sections (elementary for students entering grades 3-5 and middle school for students 

entering grades 6-8) from 9-11 AM for games, music theory and learning music. The two groups 

meet for a joint performance rehearsal daily from 11 AM to Noon. 

The camp theme for this year is “Our World of Singing” and focuses on songs from different 

countries and cultures that unite our hearts and minds. Each section will be led by professional, 

certified music teachers and singers from the Houston Choral Society. Singing skills, musicianship 

and part-singing will be taught with music games and in small ensembles. The camp will culminate 

in a performance for friends and family on Friday, July 13 th at 6 PM. Camps are filling up fast so we 

encourage parents to sign up for camps now. Camp tuition for 15 hours of instruction is only $180. 

Each family will receive 2 free tickets for the end of camp performance. Additional tickets can be 

purchased for only $5 per person. The camps include two complimentary tickets to the end of camp 

performance, a camp t-shirt, music and other needed materials. The camps will be held at The

for July 

• Plant fall flowering annuals where your spring annuals 

have bloomed out. Plant seeds like zinnia, marigold, 

cosmos, petunia and portulaca so you’ll have color until 

frost. Don’t let seedlings dry out. 

• In summer, prune roses to keep them in shape. 

Continue black spot and insect treatments. Water 2” 

once per week. 

• Remove spent crepe myrtle flowers to prolong bloom 

production. 

• Weeds rob plants of valuable water, nutrients--remove 

them. 

• Great sun/heat-lovers include coral honeysuckle, 

coreopsis, lantana, oleanders and hamelia. 

• Fertilize flowers lightly, if at all; too hot for heavy 

feedings. 

• Water your lawn longer but less frequent. Deep water 

of about 2 - 3” per week forces plant roots to grow down, 

instead of sideways into sunbaked upper soil levels. Use 

a bowl in your yard to measure during waterings.

INGREDIENTS: 

Cooking spray 

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 

3/4 teaspoon baking powder 

3/4 teaspoon baking soda 

1/2 teaspoon salt 

3/4 cup white sugar 

2/3 cup whipped cream cheese 

1/2 cup table cream 

2 eggs 

1/4 cup vegetable oil 

1 teaspoon vegetable oil 

8 ounces fresh blueberries 

DIRECTIONS: 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease muffin cups with cooking spray or 

line with paper muffin liners. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together with 

a sifter into a bowl. Combine sugar, cream cheese, table cream, eggs and 1/4 cup vegetable 

oil plus 1 teaspoon vegetable oil in a large bowl. Fold flour mixture into sugar mixture 

until batter is smooth. Stir in blueberries. Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake in 

preheated oven until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS: 

1 1/2 cups white sugar 

1 cup brown sugar 

1/3 cup half-and-half cream 

1/3 cup milk 

2 tablespoons margarine 

1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

1/2 cup pecan halves 

DIRECTIONS: 

Butter a baking sheet. Butter the sides of a heavy, 2-quart saucepan. In the saucepan, stir 

together white sugar, brown sugar, cream, milk and margarine and bring to a boil over 

medium heat. Heat, without stirring, to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees 

C) or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens 

when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Remove from heat and cool to 

lukewarm (110 degrees). 

Stir in vanilla and beat vigorously until mixture loses its gloss. Quickly stir in pecans and 

spread on prepared sheet. Score into squares while warm; cut when firm.
