New businesses add more

New businesses add more variety at Couplands The inviting aroma of fresh bread delivered twice every day is just one of the reasons people in the Rolleston community are flocking to the longawaited Couplands Bakery now open in Rolleston Square. The ninth outlet in the Canterbury region, the Rolleston Couplands offers the popular bakery’s full range of tasty breads, as well as delicious cakes, donuts and slices, ideal for morning and afternoon teas, and popping into the lunch box. The bakery employs 12 staff, most of them local residents, and they are there to serve customers seven days a week from 7am-6pm. Rolleston Square Hachi Hachi Casual, fresh and friendly sums up the new Hachi Hachi Japanese restaurant and takeaway in Rolleston Square. Offering truly authentic Japanese fare, Hachi Hachi is also known as the ‘Home of the Sushi Burger’, with the burger featuring sushi patties as the bun and delicious fillings such as fish or chicken. Another signature item is their very popular Karaage Chicken, a crispy chicken dish. Hachi Hachi also offers catering, with fresh sushi platters a healthy option to enjoy while watching the rugby. Phone 972 5459 to order. All their dishes are price-friendly too, and they are open from 10.30am-8.30pm seven days. Lazeez Increasing numbers of Rolleston and Burnham customers coming to the well-established Lazeez Mediterranean Grill in Marshland Road has prompted expansion to Rolleston. The only Mediterranean food outlet in the local area, Lazeez Mediterranean Grill in Rolleston Square offers delicious Souvlaki, Hot Grill Salads, Moroccan Tagine, and many more tasty dishes. A family of four can dine for around $50, with average prices at $14-$16 for dine in and takeaway items. Plus, they only use eco-friendly packaging – no plastic.
