The opening and closing ceremonies of the<br />
World Choir Games will be broadcast on<br />
kykNET NOU! DSTV channel 146 as well as at<br />
the World Choir Village in Pretoria, <strong>Tshwane</strong>.<br />
The newly constructed and magnificent<br />
Sun Arena in Pretoria, <strong>Tshwane</strong> is the<br />
venue of the grand opening of the World<br />
Choir Games 2018, the 10th jubilee edition<br />
of the largest choir competition in the<br />
world. The 4 July Opening Ceremony will<br />

The opening of the World Choir Games<br />
marks the beginning of an exciting journey<br />
for thousands of singers from numerous<br />
nations. They will look back on months of<br />
intensive and hard work, and will be anxious<br />
to see the start of the World Choir Games in<br />
<strong>Tshwane</strong>, the place where the world meets<br />
to engage in a peaceful competition of<br />
choirs and nations from around the globe.<br />
When the flag of the World Choirs Games<br />
is raised in a solemn ceremony, this act<br />
is associated to one of the fundamental<br />
ideas of the Choir Olympics event, namely<br />
“participation is the highest honor”.<br />
As a prelude to their upcoming Choir<br />
Olympic adventure all participants will be<br />
warmly welcomed by the host city and<br />
country in the Opening Ceremony: South<br />
Africa is going to present itself by staging<br />
a great and flamboyant performance and<br />
showcase the richness and variety of the<br />
South African culture.<br />
