This historic family winery has produced<br />
wine in the Viennese districts of Heiligenstadt<br />
and Grinzing since 1683. The<br />
house on Pfarrplatz is a synonym for wine<br />
quality and traditional Viennese heuriger<br />
(wine tavern) culture. Ludwig van Beet hoven<br />
lived in an apartment in this house in the year<br />
1817 while working on his greatest composition,<br />
his 9th Symphony. The wines of this estate<br />
come from the very best Viennese vineyards:<br />
the Nussberg and the Alsegger. Their<br />
elegant fruity aroma, balance and character<br />
are true reflections of these sites. The “Wiener<br />
Gemischter Satz DAC” is the ultimate classic<br />
in the assortment of wines. This specialty is<br />
made from a field blend of Grüner Veltliner,<br />
Riesling, Rotgipfler and Zierfandler that are<br />
all harvested and fermented together. Single-vineyard<br />
Rieslings also exhibit the unique<br />
characteristics of the Nussberg and Alsegger<br />
vineyards. Varietal wines from Grüner Veltliner,<br />
Sauvignon Blanc, and Gelber Muskateller<br />
(Muscat blanc á petits grains) round out the<br />
assortment of white wines. The Mayer am<br />
Pfarrplatz winery also offers an elegant Blauburgunder<br />
(Pinot Noir) for red wine lovers.<br />

Pale green-yellow with silver highlights. White apple and pear<br />
with tobacco spice and a touch of orange zest over a background<br />
of subtle meadow herbs. Complexity and finesse with<br />
power and vibrant acid structure flavoured with minerals and<br />
sweetly extracted yellow apple. Lingers long on the finish and<br />
