Our Sunshine News is brief but all good this month!
Before we left on our President’s Run we had news that Sue Comer had not been feeling
well and tests had revealed that they had seen a spot on her aorta. We received great
news a few days after we returned; all the tests were fine and the spot was a false
positive and Sue is feeling much better. So grateful!
Kathy Renna, Charlotte’s daughter had hip surgery the day of our General Meeting and
just before the meeting, we heard that she was out of recovery and everything went well.
She is now recovering at her Mom’s house.
Last month we learned that Charlie and Kim Fosnaugh’s Lab blew her knee out and would
need to have a specialized surgery this month. She’s had surgery and did fine was able to
return home the day after the surgery. She is now recovering at home watching movies
with Charlie.
Ed and Joyce Kroeker celebrated their 59 th anniversary this month. Joyce has given Ed the
same anniversary card for the last 20 years! She said she changes the outside envelope
occasionally but so far, he hasn’t caught on.
Kim and Charlie had a fun weekend in Monterey with their daughter, her husband and
granddaughter. They visited the beach, Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Steve and Lydia Garcia are leaving on August 12 th which is Lydia’s birthday on a 3-week
vacation to Ireland and Scotland. They will be celebrating her birthday in the air. Happy
Birthday Lydia have a great birthday and a wonderful vacation!
I heard from Lupe Dawson; she has just returned from a six-week visit with her sister Pat
in Michigan. She said she enjoyed a great trip with all the boys in the family. She wasn’t
able to attend the meeting as she was having cataract surgery very early the next
morning. She wanted say hello and wish everyone her best and let everyone know she’s
doing fine. She hopes to see everyone at the next meeting.
Thanks for sharing all your Sunshine and Clouds,
Your Sunshine Girl, Debbie G.

2019 Yenko Corvette gets a 1000 HP!
Specialty Vehicle Engineers offers Yenko/SC Stage II Corvette package from the dealer!
AUTO INDUSTRY NEWS - Jose Altoveros / Specialty Vehicle Engineers | July 24, 2018
For Chevrolet fans, they would know that the Yenko name is synonymous to the Camaros
built by Don Yenko back in the late 1960s. In more recent light, the guys over at Specialty
Vehicle Engineers have decided to bring the Yenko name back by introducing the Yenko/SC
Stage II Camaro which produced 1,000 PS. Now, the same guys have decided to give the
Yenko treatment to the C7 Corvette.
Officially called the Yenko/SC Stage II Corvette, it is powered by a modified version of the
LT1 V8 which now displaces 6.8-liters and is also supercharged. To be specific, the engine
head now features CNC ported high-flow LT4 heads, forged internals, larger throttle bodies,
an upgraded fuel system and a reworked exhaust to bump up the power.
With the Stage 1 LT1 supercharged V8, the eight-cylinder motor cranks out 835 PS. Should
that not be enough, customers can opt to get the full Stage II upgrade instead which boosts
power up to 1,000 PS and 1,152 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via a
7-speed manual with an upgraded clutch or a 'heavy-duty' 8-speed automatic transmission.
To make the Yenko Corvette stand out, it adorns the famous Yenko livery complete with
badges on the front fender. There are also optional sYc exterior graphics available. The rest
of the exterior aero is carried over from the Corvette Grand Sport in which the Yenko Corvette
is based off.
Only 25 units of the Yenko/SC Stage II Corvette will be made. They will be available
in both standard hardtop and convertible variants. The best news about the Yenko
Corvette is that customers can actually avail of it at authorized US Chevrolet
dealerships, and will only set you back USD 68,995.

National Corvette Museum. Hosted only once every five years. The 6th National Corvette Caravan is slated for
