NEW JR. RDO
Elizabeth C Marceleno, known by her friends and co-workers as
Liz started her career at a private Family Practice in Oak Cliff in
1994, where she learned the fundamentals of clinical operations.
In 1996, Liz became the Assistant to the Administrator. In her new
role she was responsible for hiring staff, credentialing, building m-
aintenance, billing, etc.
Liz joined MD Kids Pediatrics February 2016 where she established
the clinic as a top performing clinic right away, earning her clinic
the remarkable title of Clinic of the Year in 2016.
Passionate about patient care, something that stems from personal
health related experiences.
Her motto defines her as a health care professional,
“Treat people as you would like to be treated”.
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, married with two children she loves
the outdoors, spending quality time with family and friends, and
creating great memories. In her down time, she likes to relax
at her lake house in East Texas and her ranch in West Texas.
A truly Texan gal!

Jury Duty Leave
(Located in the Employee Handbook, pages 51-52)
If a full-time regular employee is summoned to jury
duty, MD Medical Group will continue his/her pay up to
forty (40) hours of jury service per calendar year. If a
full-time regular employee is required to serve more
than forty (40) hours of jury service in a calendar year,
he/she will be allowed additional time off without pay,
or the use of PTO when available, to complete the jury
service. MD Medical Group will continue to pay an
employee for this extended period of service only if and
to the extent provided for under applicable law.
Employees must notify their Practice Manager as soon
as it is known jury duty will be extended. An employee
is also permitted to retain the allowance he/she
receives from the court for such service.
All employees are allowed unpaid time off if
summoned to appear in court as a witness. To qualify
for either jury or witness duty leave, an employee must
submit to the immediate Manager and Human
Resources a copy of the summons immediately as
soon as it is received. In addition, the employee must
also submit to the immediate supervisor and Human
Resources a related proof of service when the period
of jury or witness duty is completed.
No adverse employment action will be taken against
employees due to their service as either a juror or
witness in state or federal courts.

Paid Time-Off (PTO)
The Paid Time-Off (PTO) program recognizes the
varying needs of employees to receive time off based
on individual preferences and circumstances. PTO
allows employees greater flexibility in determining
when and how their times off benefits are used. PTO
is used for vacation, illness, inclement weather, and
other personal time off needs. Employees must not
take more PTO than what is accrued.
PTO Accrual and Years of Service
Unless otherwise stated on an employment
agreement, all regular, full time employees exempt
and nonexempt will accrue PTO time according to the
Years of Service/PTO Accrued
1 to the end of 4 years/10 days (80 hours)
5 to the end of 9 years/15 days (120 hours)
10 or more years/20 days (160 hours)
Carry Over PTO
Effective 2018, a maximum of 24 hours may carry over
to the next year.
PTO carried over from the previous year must be taken
by August 31st of the current calendar year– it cannot
be deferred again and no payment will be made for
unused carry over PTO.
Email Etiquette Tips
There are a few important points to remember when
composing email, particularly when the email's
recipient is a superior and/or someone who does not
• Be sure to include a meaningful subject line;
this helps clarify what your message is about
and may also help the recipient prioritize
reading your email.
• Just like a written letter, be sure to open your
email with a greeting like Dear Dr. Jones, or
• Use standard spelling, punctuation, and
capitalization. THERE'S NOTHING WORSE
THAN AN EMAIL SCREAMING A MESSAGE
IN ALL CAPS. Do not use text abbreviations
(like u instead of you, for example).
• Write clear, short paragraphs and be direct
and to the point; professionals and
academics alike see their email accounts as
business. Don't write unnecessarily long
emails or otherwise waste the recipient's
• Be friendly and cordial, but don't try to joke
around (jokes and witty remarks may be
inappropriate and, more commonly, may not
come off appropriately in email).
happy birthday to you!
