BE HIS
MESSAGE
One blessed Friday at Feast
SM Manila, I was preaching
about worth to the thousand
of young attendees inside
cinema 4. I believe that it
was right after our worship
part. All the singers and
worship leaders are present
at the stage. I was surprised
by my good friend Ericson
Trinidad, who by the way is
getting married next week
(Woohoo!!!), because he
suddenly knelt down in front
of me and tied my shoe lace.
I didn’t notice that my shoe
lace got loose. Erix could
actually just call my attention,
whisper to me or just point to
me about my shoe lace but
he decided to be the one that
would tie it up. God preach
to me at that moment. His
action allowed me to see
God’s message. And I actually
saw Jesus in Him, right at that
moment. Humility. Self-denial.
Compassion. Love. That’s
Jesus.
Friends, today we start a
brand new series entitled
BREAKING NEWS. We will
talk about the 4 amazing
Gospel. We dive in to get to
know more of Jesus through
His word. The goal for me this
series is not just to know the
gospel but be the gospel. Be
His message. Be His love to
someone today.

Of all the books in the
Holy Bible, I find the four
Gospels most easy to
understand and most
awe-inspiring. I love
reading about the life of
JESUS CHRIST and HIS
human experiences in
his thirty three years on
earth. Meditating on these
works of the evangelists St.
Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke
and St. John is the highlight
of my day.
That is why I am so excited
for our new series called
“Breaking News” as we
take an in depth study
of the Good News of our
MESSIAH’s life, death and
resurrection.

WELCOME to our
exciting series,
Breaking News.
For five weeks, we’ll
ride a spaceship to
the sky, and from that
vantage point, get a
macro-view of the four
Gospels—Matthew,
Mark, Luke, and John.
(Note: If we wanted,
we could have ridden
Elon Musk’s Boring
Machine, drill deep
into each of the 4
Gospels, and dissect
the 3779 verses. That
will take, uh, 75.3
years. Not a good
idea. Most of us will
be dead.
Before we dive into
the series, let me give
you two WARNINGS.
First: The talks will be
more cerebral. So if
you donate your brain,
you can no longer
claim it is “slightly
used”. Some people
assume that faith
means throwing away
their brain. Nope.
God gave each one of
us a mind so that we
can understand our
faith. Your faith is not
blind. Our Catholic
faith is an intelligent
faith.
Second: After this
series, my hope
is that you’ll have
more questions than
answers. I’m serious.
I know some people
who feel guilty when
they have questions
because they think
that means they have
doubts—and for them,
doubts are bad. But
may I shock you?
Doubts are part of our
faith journey. Doubts
are needed to deepen
our faith.

PICTURE
Despite God’s love and
efforts, the people of Israel
chose to sin. Because of
His goodness, God sent
shepherds after His own
heart to lead and guide
His beloved Israel back to
Him. He does not change.
He still runs after the lost.
All of us could be leaders
in whatever situation
we are in. Although not
against leadership training,
books and seminars,
Father Toto Cerada, SDB
invites us to always seek
to pattern our hearts to
God’s heart.
A leader after God’s
heart sees the bigger
picture of things, knows
that leadership is about
sacrifice and service, and
does not use power and
influence, but the heart.
A leader is a salt that will
be felt although not seen.
A leader is a light that
appreciates life.
We often lose focus on the
sense of Christianity—to
have our hearts patterned
after God’s own. Father
Toto shared a story of
another priest, pointing
out on how students take
home diplomas but not
values. We lose ourselves
for the world and forget
that we should seek the
heart of God first. We
should not forget to honor
our parents and value
other people’s sacrifices.
When we fail to see the
bigger picture, we fail
to understand that it is
inevitable to do something
wrong along the way. Just
because we do something
wrong, does not mean
we sin, but when we sin
we do something wrong.
Whenever we go wrong,
God is faithful to get us
back to Him. He invites us
to get up and try again.
An intelligent man knows
the difference between
right and wrong, but a
wise man strives to do
what’s right and repels
what’s wrong because he
sees the bigger picture.
God invites us to choose
to be wise. He invites us to
pattern our hearts to His
and see the bigger picture.
THE WORLD HAS TOO MUCH TO SAY
It’s difficult to live in a world where
we look at different point of views.
2000 years ago, Mama Mary had the
same problem. When Angel Gabriel
announced that she would be the
Mother of God, she thought of what
people would tell her. She was a virgin
and an ordinary teenager. Despite her
doubts, she accepted her identity as the
handmaid of the Lord.
Through Mary’s story, God wants you to
know this: In His eyes, you are His VIP.
To Him, you are not ordinary. He doesn’t
care about your failures. HE CARES
FOR YOU. And do know that:

Kuya Lep shared His reflection on our
latest series.
1. God has no phone, but He is always
calling you. My friend, you are God’s
message to the world.
2. God has no Instagram, but He loves
following you. Nila-like ka pa nga Niya
eh. Sabi Niya, ang ganda mo raw dun
oh. Yiee. Kaya ‘wag ka tumalikod sa
Kanya. Miss ka Niya, may IG man o
wala.
3. God has no Facebook, but He is your
friend. BFFF nga kayo. Best friends
forever and forever.
Choosing His voice is easier said than
done. There are so many options. Our
lives were compared to a corridor
with so many doors. We open them,
but sometimes we just peep from the
outside. We have to choose God’s
appointed before it gets away. But
how do we know which one’s God’s
appointed?
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO HAVE A
STRONG CORE
Doc Ryan shared his reflection on St.
John Paul II’s life.
1. IDENTITY: Know who you are. Saan
ka ba magaling? Ano ang gifts ni Lord
sa’yo?
2. DESTINY: Know what you want. St.
John Paul II had many options, but he
wanted to live the life God has in store
for him.
3. INTEGRITY: Know where you stand.
St John Paul did not please everyone,
but he stood for what was right. We
should stand for Jesus. Isabuhay natin
ang ating pananampalatayang Katoliko!
The world is so noisy, that it has too
much to say, but we must choose to
listen to that One Voice. He knows us.
He knows what’s best. Choose one
voice and make a difference!

1T: THE FEAST BAY AREA THANKSGIVING CONCERT
The Lord has been blessing over
300 feasts around the world.
There is so much to be thankful
for! Last Sunday, July 29, 2018,
The Feast Bay Area District held
a thanksgiving concert entitled 1T
featuring the builders from Feast
Bay Area AM and PM sessions,
Youth High, MOA, A1 and Manila.
The 9 builders of these feasts
performed unique and entertaining
performances that made the
audience laugh, cry and smile.
The whole district celebrated
as one in the said event. As a
form of thanksgiving, it ended
with worship. The proceeds from
the concert will go to the Youth
Ministries.
During the concert, our builders
gave their own definition of 1T.
For Brother Lep, 1T is isang taospusong
pagmamahal (one sincere
love) for God and neighbor. For
Doc Ryan, 1T is isang tapat na
paglilingkod (one faithful service).
Both builders had extreme
performances. Doc Ryan first
thanked God for being a builder
for 1 year. He also thanked the
servants and the attendees of the
Feast SM Manila because he sees
their love for God, neighbor and
service. He dedicated his touching
performance of “Mahal Kita,
Walang Iba” by Ogie Alcasid to
his family and his family from The
Feast SM Manila.
After Doc Ryan’s touching
performance, Brother Lep
increased the hype in PICC with
“Sige Lang” by Quest. He thanked
Feast Bay Area for conquering
his fear of singing. The two sang
“Salamat” by The Dawn for their
thanksgiving to The Feast SM
Manila’s servants and attendees.
It is an honor and privilege for The
Feast SM Manila to be a part of
this District. For nine years, our
Feast has been a hope for the lost
and a channel of love. Transitional
videos of servants from The Feast
SM Manila were shown. Sister
Saly Sumera, our builder’s wife,
thanked the Feast SM Manila for
helping her see her identity of
being the child of God. Sister Dolly
Dela Cruz thanked The Feast SM
Manila for helping her restore her
relationships.
Our leader, Brother Bo Sanchez
shared a story as the celebration
came to an end.
“There was a guy, his name is
Copernicus and he announced
to everybody: the earth is not the
center of the universe, it’s the
sun and we are revolving around
the sun. You and I, we need a
Copernican Revolution in the way
we live. When it rains and you
feel bad... please understand that
you’re not the only person in this
universe. There are other people
who will consider rain as blessing.
We want to raise up more young
people in the Light of Jesus Family.
The Light of Jesus Family is for
young people. Why? We’re not
thinking of ourselves anymore.
We are right now declaring a
Copernican Revolution in our
lives.”
The world revolves around God.
We want more young people to
realize that. Our Feasts bring
people closer to Jesus. The Feast
SM Manila continuously change
the way youth perceive life. Thank
You, God for Feasts and The Feast
SM Manila. Let’s make Jesus the
center of many people’s lives!
And for our youth, you are the
church!
