“For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes, His eternal power and divine nature,
have been clearly seen, being understood
through what has been made, so that they are
without excuse.” - - Romans 1:20
Annsally Franz will be here to
Molinar will be back as our AG
Zachary Bauer has also agreed to
And lastly, we will be having a
Our youngest daughter, Marian,
will marry Nathan Thomas, a past
celebrate with them at the end of
the GIT season. Shalom,
PREPPING
THE SOIL
O
ne of
Yeshua’s
more
famous parables is about the seeds and the soil.
There’s the PATHWAY SOIL—hard and the seed has
no chance to grow; the ROCKY SOIL—it grows
quickly but can’t last in the heat; the WEEDY SOIL—
where the seeds that were sown too often get
choked out and can’t be truly fruitful; and of course
the GOOD SOIL— producing 100 fold. Preparing our
physical soil at Growing In Torah has helped me
realize how much work it takes to have good soil! It
needs to be fine, but not powdered, to be moist but
not drowned, to be fertile but not over-fertilized or
it will burn out the plants. If you want to be good
soil, you need to let the Farmer (Yeshua) do some
serious work in your life.
GIT BOARD NEWS
Growing In Torah
The February GIT Board Retreat was a
productive weekend. We welcomed our
newest board member, Rod Woodruff, who
will be heading up our fundraising efforts as we continue to move
forward with building our campus. (The land was recently surveyed)
We would also like to thank Marvin Davis for the time he served on the
GIT Board and for his efforts on our behalf.
PURPOSE IN
PLANTING
A
fter two years of letting the land rest, we are
excited to be planting again!!
It rained a lot in the offseason, which was
wonderful, but caused a slight delay in getting the
field ready. Finally, we were able to disc the field, lay
a healthy compost, lay plastic mulch, and now, we
are planting!! We are so eager to have our own fresh
vegetables again. It will be interesting to see what
effect resting the land will have. We have high
expectations!
MAKING PROGRESS
W
e
had the land surveyed,
and now we are waiting
on the site plan.
OFFSEASON PRUNING
What
Is GIT?
Growing In Torah is a College-Age
program beginning in March, and ending in
the Fall with the Feast of Tabernacles harvest
festival. GIT takes place on a central CA farm.
Farm life teaches important life skills, like:
hard work, dedication to detail, patience,
tenacity and humility. We strive to plant these
skills within our young men and women.
“Training Students to Bless the Land,
and the People of the Land”
MEET THE
STUDENTS
The Bible was written to an agricultural
society. Like Yeshua, who used agricultural
analogies in the parables, we use this
agricultural perspective to teach and train our
students both in the physical and spiritual. At
GIT, we are all about getting back to our roots,
and it is a rewarding experience to see this
come to life in our student volunteers as they
get their hands dirty, growing in Torah.
HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS
4
ROMANS 1:20 Recently, we took a day off to hike in the mountains –
Sequoia National Park. Being in the mountains is such a
humbling experience. It reminds me of Psalms 121:1-2 where
David looks up to the mountains, knowing that his strength comes
from YHVH. Yeah no kidding! Seeing His glorious creation shows you
the power that He has. You definitely know that He has the power to
help us in our times of need. - - Anna Zimmerman (GIT Student)
