Foreword As the water cycle and carousels display, good things come around again. Thus it is with Creative Sparks. Each year, a new round of creative writing precipitates upon us, comprising pieces of short fiction, poetry of different sorts, and, occasionally, the well polished essay. This year’s volume brings us several collaborative short fiction pieces - one based on a photograph - a few solo endeavors, and copious poetic showers. Represented here within are the writers of Mattayom 4, 5, and 6, coached and edited by Ajarns Brad, Yevgeni, Michael, and myself. Not to be overlooked are the illustrations, provided by student artists at various grade levels. The teacher-editors are proud of you student writers and illustrators; we thank you for your offerings. We also thank the school administration for supporting this project and Ajarn Kangsadan for carrying the torch. Our gratitude also goes out to the publishing company for your indispensable role. Students, please continue to rain down upon us your torrential creativity. Please, also think upon ways in which you can apply your powers of creative thinking towards problem solving, peacemaking, and responsible decision making. You are our future. Preface The ninth volume of Creative Sparks has been designed to provide or to be an arena of creative writing for EPTS students. As long as students still have dreams and fantasies of writing, Creative Sparks will be the platform for students to demonstrate their capabilities and imagination. I personally think that the best way to freely express your ideas and emotions is through writing because you are able to take time to scrutinize your thoughts and put mixed emotions into words. It does not matter how confusing your thoughts and your emotions are, write them onto a paper because... “It is perfectly okay to write garbage - as long as you edit brilliantly” - C.J.
