Developing Research continued from page 13
Nurses everywhere function under one common
goal: to serve as a patient advocate and to provide
evidence-based care (Tingen, Burnett, Murchison,
& Zhu, 2009). However, in order to provide
evidence-based care, evidence must be available.
In all of the aforementioned examples, the nurse
was able to use their clinical experiences and
knowledge of inadequacies in the field to develop
a line of research. Ultimately, nurses may further
contribute to improving healthcare by producing
scholarly works regarding nursing practice,
administration, or education.
