CAMP: FALL & WINTER Looking for something fun & engaging for your child during PA days or holidays? Additional fees apply. Day Camp registrations are accepted until 8:00pm the Thursday prior to the week of participation. Registration fees must be paid at the time of registration. Multi-Child Discount, 2nd child 5% off, each additional child 10% off. REFUNDS AND CREDITS Late registrations/changes/cancellations to registrations will be subject to a $10 administration fee. The only exception is for refund requests that are accompanied with medical proof. Refunds requested after the start of a program are subject to prorating based on classes completed at the time of request. STAFF Our team consists of enthusiastic trained counselors. All staff members are trained in the HIGH FIVE ® Principles of Healthy Child Development, are First-Aid and CPR-certified and trained in delivering the values of inclusion. Goals of our staff team include offering your child a positive experience at camp, teaching them skills that help develop positive self esteem as well as encouraging physical activity while participating in camp activities. NUT-SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENT Due to nut allergies, we ask that NO NUTS or other nut-added products be brought to camp. SUBSIDY SUPPORT /ASSISTANCE If you are faced with financial barriers and would like your child to have a great camp experience, please contact Sherrie Aldred, Recreation and Culture Coordinator at the Town Park Recreation Centre to discuss assistance options. The Municipality of Port Hope, Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture is a recognized service provider for Northumberland County Children’s Services. Families receiving Ontario Works Child Care Benefit can choose our program. Running: Jan 2-4, 2019 Daily Fun themed activities including crafts, age appropriate activities, swimming, skating and more. Holiday camp is sure to be a blast. Recommended age: 4-12 yrs Location: Town Park Recreation Centre Times: 8:30am-4:30pm (extended hours available) Daily Running: Mar 11-15, 2019 Join us for a week of fun filled activities including swimming, skating and age appropriate activities. Recommended age: 4-12 yrs Location: Town Park Recreation Centre Times: 8:30am-4:30pm (extended hours available) SICK /ABSENT CAMPERS If your child is displaying signs of illness, please do not send them to camp for the consideration of other campers and staff. If your child will not be attending camp on a day that they are registered, please call the Town Park Recreation Centre at 905-885-7908 or e-mail daycamp@porthope.ca to notify staff. TRIPS Please ensure that your child arrives at camp on time. Participants registered in camp will be participating in the trip destinations. Parent/guardians are asked not to send money with their child as they will not be able to purchase anything on the trip. MEDICATIONS If a child requires prescription medication on a regular basis that is to be administered at camp, please note the following procedures for sending medication to camp. 1. Parents must indicate at registration the type of medication, dosage and optimum time of dispense. 2. Only send the correct dose for the week. 3. All medications must be in prescription bottles with the child’s name and dosage. 4. Staff are not permitted to administer nonprescription drugs at camp. SWIMMING Swimming will take place at Jack Burger Sports Complex. Qualified lifeguards are on duty for Day Camp participants. Please remember to send a swimsuit and towel with your child. Come to the Town Park Recreation Centre and Jack Burger Sports Complex for a variety of drop in activities including gym and youth centre activities, swimming, youth shinny, skating, crafts and other fun planned activities available each PA Day. For children aged 4-16 yrs, children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by a caregiver 15 yrs+ (babysitters, grandparents, etc) $5.00 per day per child. A pass offers you admission into each activity available per scheduled day. Regular admission fees apply for caregivers for each activity. Passes can be purchased in advance or the day of.
