U.S. Auto Sales jumped in March: GM, Fiat
Chrysler, Toyota increase
As Americans deepen their love of sport utility vehicles,
automakers felt the effect when it came to March sales.
Collectively, they reported an unexpectedly strong
month in March amid strong consumer confidence
despite stock market volatility.
Sales of new vehicles jumped 6% for the month,
compared with a year earlier, according to Autodata.
For the month, the traditional Detroit Three automakers
had strong month based almost exclusively on their
SUVs, crossovers and pickups.
General Motors recorded a surprising 15.7% sales
increase, far outpacing expectations. Ford Motor
was up 3.5% and Fiat Chrysler rose 13.6%. Among the
Japanese automakers, Toyota was up 3.5%, Nissan
declined 3.7%, Honda rose 3.8% and Subaru continued
its hot sales streak with a 5.9% increase.
Wild swings in stock prices, higher gasoline prices
and higher interest rates weren’t enough to keep car
buyers out of the showroom.
JL Lift Kit – Rubicon Express 2.0 System
The desire to run bigger tires and wheels is the driving
force behind the sales of lift kits, and the 2018 Jeep
Wrangler JL is sure to be a popular platform for
suspension upgrades. The JL is in its infancy regarding
its life cycle. However, aftermarket manufacturers
have been hard at work to get lift kits to market for
the new Wrangler. Easter Jeep Safari, the annual
“Mecca” of Jeepdom held annually in Moab, Utah,
has accelerated this process. If you’re lucky to be
among the Red Rock 4-Wheelers and Jeep revelers
this year, you may catch a glimpse of the subject of
today’s post in action. Introducing the 2.0 lift kit for the
2018 JL Wrangler.
JL Lift Kit – If It Ain’t Broke…
If you drive a lifted JK and you haven’t test driven a
JL, keep it that way. Don’t do it to yourself, your family,
or your bank account. Just walk away. Because once
you experience the butter-smooth (for a Jeep) ride
and handling of the JL’s suspension, you’ll be tapping
into Junior’s college fund. For those that already own a
JL and know how great it rides, you might be skeptical
about a lift ruining your ride quality. No worries as
Rubicon Express has been an innovator and authority
in Jeep suspension. They recognize that FCA got it
right with the new JL, so the best way to get larger tires
underneath your new Wrangler is with a spacer lift.
Coil Spacers added to the new JL in this 2″ JL lift kit
from Rubicon Express give you a nice stance and
clearance for 35″ tires. That is, unless you spring for a
Rubicon model, in which case you can safely run 37s.
Shock absorber extensions, sway bar drops and bump
stop extensions retain all of the other finely-tuned
suspension components. Maintaining the factory
geometry of the JL Wrangler virtually eliminate the
chance of changing your Jeep’s ride characteristics.
Forgotten Indian Childhood Games
That Need To Be Revived Before They Are Lost Forever
Forgotten Indian Childhood Games
Lagori, Kancha, Gilli-danda, Kho Kho – recognise any
of these names? If you’re in your 40s or 50s, the mere
mention is bound to evoke nostalgia for summer days
spent playing outdoors with friends. If you’re in your
20s or 30s, your parents and grandparents could tell
you a tale or two about the magic of these childhood
games.
But will the children of this generation have the same
memories? Most likely not, because many of them
spend their time playing video games in a virtual world.
This addiction has brought the classic Indian games
mentioned above, and many others, to the brink of
extinction.
Kancha or Marbles
This is still a popular game among kids in rural
areas. The game is played with round glass
marbles and the motive is to collect as many
marbles as possible by shooting and striking
other marbles with the ones you have.
Played by: Any number of people
We will continue to look on these forgotten games in
our monthly articles.
CARE FOR NATURE - No Tissue Day
It is very important for each and every one of us to
protect the environment and Mother nature. Our
modern day life style-urge to get things done in much
faster and easier way has its effects on the nature.
It is high time now for us to stand and contribute in
whatever little way we can to protect the Mother
nature.
So we as ONE KEYSTONE FAMILY would continue to
observe one day at our organisation (JPN & BTM) as
“NO TISSUE DAY ( Facial Tissues)”. Which means that
on the day, we will volunteer as one family and limit
the use of tissue for one entire day (All shifts).
When: Third Friday of every
month
How we could help: By not
using facial tissues for a day
How will it help: Save trees
being cut & water being
used for tissue manufacture
Here are some fun facts about the tissue paper usage across the globe.
1. Tissue accounts for greater than 15% of deforestation
2. We throw away enough paper to make tissue paper for a lifetime
3. To make one ton of paper towels, 17 trees are cut down and 20,000 gallons of water are consumed
4. Decomposing paper towels produce methane gas. Methane gas is a leading cause of global warming
5. The average person uses 2,400 – 3,000 paper towels at work, in a given year
6. Tissue paper wipes out 27,000 trees a day. Worldwide, the equivalent of almost 270, 000 trees is either flushed
or dumped in landfills every day and roughly 10% of that total is attributable to tissue paper, according to
The IPL is the most-attended cricket league in the world and in 2014 ranked sixth by average attendance
among all sports leagues. In 2010, the IPL became the first sporting event in the world to be broadcast live on
YouTube. The brand value of IPL in 2017 was US$5.3 billion, according to Duff & Phelps. According to BCCI, the
2015 IPL season contributed 11.5
billion INR (US$182 million) to the
GDP of the Indian economy.
The league’s format is similar
to that of the Premier League
of England and the NBA in the
United States.
There have been ten seasons
