8) He shall be prepared to be called upon if needed by the pastor.
9) During any interim period when the Church is without a pastor, whether
because by death, resignation, or severing of the Church/Pastor relationship, it is incumbent
upon the Chairman of the Board of Deacons to call together the deacons as soon as
possible for the following:
a) nominate, on an interim basis, a regular ordained fundamental
missionary Baptist minister to be in charge of the pulpit by taking care of the regular order of
services whose duties shall end at the completion of that task;
b) to call the Board of Deacons to nominate a Pastor Search Committee
of seven (7) voting members whose duty shall be to supply the pulpit with a fundamental
missionary Baptist minister to deliver a gospel message when the same is required;
c) establish a date of a business meeting at which all nominations and
recommendations of the Pastor Search Committee shall be approved, altered, or rejected by
the Voting Members of the Church.
5. Trustees
10) He shall be willing to perform other duties as requested by the pastor.
a. Accountable to: Pastor, Board of Deacons and Congregation
b. Principle Function: The Trustees serve as the legal representatives in all
transactions related to the church. They hold title to the church property and they sign
all documents related to the purchase, sale, mortgaging, or rental of church property after
approval by the church in regular business session. Trustees should act only on the
authority of church approval.
c. Selection: The selection of Trustees to fill any vacancy shall be nominated
by the pastor and members of the Board of Deacons, acting together, and they should
come to a consensus of selecting one or more individuals to serve as Trustee(s) to be
submitted to the Church for affirmation.
