Morning Star Baptist Church<br />

7. Treasurer<br />
a. Accountable: Pastor <strong>and</strong> Deacons/Congregation<br />
b. Principle Function: Responsible for ensuring accuracy in maintaining the<br />
financial records of the Morning Star Baptist Church <strong>and</strong> assisting in the preparation of<br />
financial reports.<br />
c. Selection: The Treasurer of this Church shall be appointed by the Board of<br />
Deacons <strong>and</strong> approved by the Church.<br />
d. Duties: The Treasurer shall provide oversight of or implement the:<br />
1) Work with the finance committee to develop <strong>and</strong> recommend policies <strong>and</strong><br />
procedures related to receiving, accounting, <strong>and</strong> dispersing church funds.<br />
2) Work with the finance committee in receiving, counting, <strong>and</strong> depositing the<br />
money. After the money is deposited, the deposit slip should be verified. The treasurer or<br />
financial secretary should justify the financial records monthly.<br />
3) Work with the financial secretary to record members’ contributions; <strong>and</strong><br />
prepare <strong>and</strong> distribute contribution statements.<br />
8. Church Clerk<br />
a. Accountable to: Church Council<br />
b. Principle Function: The Church Clerk shall be responsible for accurate<br />
recording of all business transactions approved regarding church business meetings.<br />
c. Selection: Board of Deacons <strong>and</strong> approved by the church.<br />
