POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL Morning Star Baptist Church Gulfport, Mississippi b. Principle Function: To assist the church in matters related to the administration of employed personnel. c. Selection: The Personnel Committee consists of nine members; three deacons (one of which is church Treasurer), Financial Secretary, Chairman of Trustees, and four laypersons. This committee shall elect four officers: Chairman, Vice- Chairman, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary. All members of the Personnel Committee are appointed by the Deacon Board. d. Those elected to serve should be representative of the church. c. Selection: The Pastor Search Committee shall consist of seven (7) members selected by the Board of Deacons and approved by the Congregation. d. Search Committee Guidelines: Established by the Deacons. e. Duties 1) It shall be the duty of the Pastor Search Committee to seek a pastor in accordance with the wishes and needs of the church. The Pastor Search Committee shall have all reasonable expenses paid for by the church (correspondence and mailing, church visits, if applicable). 2) Serve until the church votes approval of a new pastor. 3) Lead the congregation to declare its expectations of the new pastor and provisions regarding the support of the pastor and family. 28 Adopted for Implementation by the membership, July 16, 2018
