VII. MISCELLANOUS<br />
1. Conflict of Interest<br />
a. A “Conflict of Interest” is any circumstance described in <strong>MSBC</strong> Conflict of<br />
Interest <strong>Policy</strong>.<br />
b. A “Responsible Person” is any person serving as an officer, employee, or<br />
member of the board of deacons <strong>and</strong> trustees of Morning Star Baptist Church.<br />
c. A “Family Member” is a spouse, parent, child, or spouse of a child, brother,<br />
sister, or spouse of a brother or sister, of a Responsible Person.<br />
d. A situation that has the potential to undermine the impartiality of a person<br />
because of the possibility of a clash between the person's self-interest <strong>and</strong> Church interest or<br />
public interest.<br />
e. A situation in which a party's responsibility to the church limits his/her ability to<br />
discharge his/her responsibility to the church.<br />
f. Persons Concerned - This policy is directed to the Pastor, Deacons, Trustees,<br />
Ministers, volunteer leaders, employees, <strong>and</strong> any others who serve as “Church<br />
Representatives” in representing Morning Star Baptist Church in financial, legal, contractual,<br />
or employment matters.<br />
g. The Conflict of Interest Form shall be signed by the above applicable individuals.<br />
The original signed copy will be maintained by the Church Secretary.<br />
NOTE: A copy of the Conflict of Interest <strong>Policy</strong> can be obtained from the<br />
Church Secretary.<br />
