VII. MISCELLANOUS
1. Conflict of Interest
a. A “Conflict of Interest” is any circumstance described in MSBC Conflict of
Interest Policy.
b. A “Responsible Person” is any person serving as an officer, employee, or
member of the board of deacons and trustees of Morning Star Baptist Church.
c. A “Family Member” is a spouse, parent, child, or spouse of a child, brother,
sister, or spouse of a brother or sister, of a Responsible Person.
d. A situation that has the potential to undermine the impartiality of a person
because of the possibility of a clash between the person's self-interest and Church interest or
public interest.
e. A situation in which a party's responsibility to the church limits his/her ability to
discharge his/her responsibility to the church.
f. Persons Concerned - This policy is directed to the Pastor, Deacons, Trustees,
Ministers, volunteer leaders, employees, and any others who serve as “Church
Representatives” in representing Morning Star Baptist Church in financial, legal, contractual,
or employment matters.
g. The Conflict of Interest Form shall be signed by the above applicable individuals.
The original signed copy will be maintained by the Church Secretary.
NOTE: A copy of the Conflict of Interest Policy can be obtained from the
Church Secretary.
