3) Physical safety<br />
a) Key holders agree to abide by Church Security policies<br />
b) Facilities are clean <strong>and</strong> well lit<br />
c) Exits are clearly marked <strong>and</strong> free of debris<br />
d) Fire alarms are kept in working order<br />
e) Food preparation areas are clean <strong>and</strong> health department guidelines for<br />
food preparation is followed.<br />
3. Child Protection<br />
a. Morning Star Baptist Church seeks to provide a safe <strong>and</strong> secure environment<br />
for the children who participate in our programs <strong>and</strong> activities. By implementing the<br />
procedures below, our goal is to protect the children of Morning Star Baptist Church from<br />
incidents of misconduct or inappropriate behavior while also protecting our staff <strong>and</strong><br />
volunteers from false accusations.<br />
1) We will keep on file procedures to follow if an incident of abuse is alleged<br />
to have occurred during any church activity.<br />
2) All employees <strong>and</strong> volunteers involved with minors are required to sign a<br />
release form which allows the church to run a criminal background check.<br />
3) No minor should be alone with one adult on church premises or at any<br />
church activity.<br />
4) All volunteers must be involved with the church for at least six months<br />
before they are allowed in any position involving contact with minors.<br />
b. Morning Star Baptist Church promotes children <strong>and</strong> youth safety <strong>and</strong> will exp<strong>and</strong><br />
our procedures in the future as programming <strong>and</strong> ministries warrant.<br />
