4. Youth Messengers’ Code of Conduct & Dress Code
a. Code of Conduct. On Thursday, May 16, 2013, the Morning Star Baptist
Church Board of Deacons adopted/ approved/ ratified the Code of Conduct and Dress Code
for Youth Messengers set forth by the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Mississippi,
Inc. under the leadership of Dr. Isiac Jackson, President, and Rev. Arthur A. Sutton,
Executive Director - Young People’s Department.
b. The General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, Inc. is a
Christian organization based on the principles set forth in the Bible, God’s Holy Word.
Therefore, all conduct displayed by messengers should reflect those values and morals that
are pleasing to God and the entire Christian fellowship. Any conduct less than positive will
be dealt with swiftly and firmly.
c. Conference Conduct:
1) Youth Messenger conduct is the responsibility of the chaperone assigned by
the messenger’s church. Messengers shall keep their chaperones informed of their
activities and whereabouts at all times. One chaperone shall be responsible for no more
than five (5) messengers.
2) Messengers are expected to attend all sessions and scheduled activities.
Please be prompt and show respect for others. Messengers will follow directions of those in
authority. Displaying disrespect and being confrontational to those in charge will result in a
removal of your messenger status. Parents and Pastors will be notified, and child will be
sent home immediately.
3) Messengers are to report any accidents, injuries and illnesses to their
chaperones immediately.
