4) Messengers are to observe the nightly curfew of 11:00 p.m. Chaperones may<br />
authorize an earlier curfew if desired, but not a later one.<br />
5) If a messenger is responsible for stealing or v<strong>and</strong>alism, the delegate or his<br />
parents will be expected to pay any damages. Criminal acts may be subject to local police<br />
authority.<br />
6) Messengers attending the convention may not purchase, consume or be under<br />
the influence of alcohol or drugs at any time. Tobacco products are prohibited <strong>and</strong> illegal<br />
for minors to possess or use. Messengers who disregard these rules will be subject to<br />
disciplinary actions <strong>and</strong> sent home. Chaperones will notify parents.<br />
7) Messengers of the opposite sex are not allowed to visit in rooms unless a<br />
chaperone is present. There will not be any display of romantic affection at any time during<br />
the convention.<br />
8) Youth Messengers are not allowed in the pool area of the hotel without a<br />

d. Dress Code... Messengers must dress appropriately at all times. The chaperone<br />
shall use the guidelines provided below in determining proper attire.<br />
1) Pants shall not sag, <strong>and</strong> all shirts shall be tucked neatly inside pants. There<br />
shall be no display of midriff by anyone. Skirts <strong>and</strong> pants shall be at least knee-length. No<br />
earrings will be worn by male messengers.<br />
2) Youth Messengers are prohibited from wearing hair curlers, hairnets, roller<br />
pins, b<strong>and</strong>anas, or other hair grooming aides.<br />
