Delegates are expected to provide updates <strong>and</strong> relevant information for consideration <strong>and</strong><br />
possible implementation.<br />
15. Elections<br />
a. Elections will be held every two years in even numbered years. Elections within<br />
all boards, departments <strong>and</strong> auxiliaries should be completed no later than the first week in<br />
September with the results forwarded to the Board of Deacons no later than the second<br />
Sunday in September. The Board of Deacons will present the approved list of c<strong>and</strong>idates to<br />
the church at its October business meeting.<br />
b. All new office holders will assume their new offices effective the first day of<br />
January following the election (odd numbered years). At this time or possibly the week<br />
before, the out-going administration should surrender all appropriate keys, official minutes,<br />
<strong>and</strong> other documentation to the incoming administration. All financial reconciliation should<br />
be (or have been) completed at this time.<br />
c. When office holders are permanently no longer able to function in an elected<br />
office, the officer next in line will move up <strong>and</strong> assume the office without the benefit of a new<br />
election.<br />
d. All voting for office holders in Morning Star Baptist Church shall be determined<br />
by that board or Ministry as it pertains to the method of voting. That method of voting shall<br />
be determined prior to the election itself with the Chairman <strong>and</strong> Secretary being responsible<br />
for the tallying of the votes. In the case of a tie the election will be repeated until a winner is<br />
declared.<br />
16. Weddings<br />
a. Only traditional ceremonies according to the Missionary Baptist Church will be<br />
allowed, i.e., there will be no bazaar type wedding or vows. Music will be spiritual in<br />
nature or spiritual songs. There will not be any “RAP,” “ROCK,” or “BLUES,” music<br />
played or sung in the church. Wedding participants <strong>and</strong> guest should dress as befitting in<br />
God*s house. There will not be any micro, mini, short-shorts, or topless outfits worn in the<br />
church. Should the wedding party desire to use the Pulpit Area as part of the wedding<br />
