23. Church Expenditures<br />

a. Payroll<br />

1) Morning Star Baptist Church will use the Automatic Data Processing<br />

System for paying its paid staff.<br />

2) This system will completely administer the church’s payroll tax function by<br />

depositing all payroll taxes <strong>and</strong> filing all government forms (940, 941, <strong>and</strong> W-2's).<br />

3) All checks <strong>and</strong> reports will be delivered to the church each pay period. No<br />

compensation will be disbursed to any substitute musician without all data being submitted to<br />

the Finance Committee for approval <strong>and</strong> payment.<br />

4) An employee may receive an advance on his/her salary checks if its normal<br />

date falls within vacation time. No advance checks will be administered without approval of<br />

Deacons <strong>and</strong> Pastor, <strong>and</strong> only in rare cases of extreme hardship with a majority of Deacons<br />

at next scheduled Deacons Meeting.<br />

b. Pastor’s Compensation<br />

1) The Church shall award the pastor cost of living raises annually<br />

commensurate with the national cost of living index, not Less than $500.00, if funds are<br />

available. This salary adjustment is figured on the pastor’s total base salary, excluding fringe<br />

benefits.<br />

2) The Pastor shall be allowed two (2) weeks’ vacation with pay each year, at<br />

his regular salary basis.<br />

3) The Pastor shall be allowed to participate in two (2) none Morning Star<br />

Baptist Church revivals each year <strong>and</strong> shall be responsible for ensuring a replacement in his<br />
