absence. In the event the Pastor should feel led to participate in a third or fourth revival in<br />

the same year he must seek approval of the Board of Deacons.<br />

4) In the event of dismissal, the church shall give the Pastor a thirty (30) day<br />

salary, less fringe benefits, upon dismissal <strong>and</strong> declare the pulpit vacant.<br />

5) In conjunction with National Pastor’s Appreciation month, the Church will<br />

observe a Pastor’s Appreciation Service each second Sunday in October at 10:30 a.m.<br />

or 3:00 p.m.<br />

c. Musician’s Supplementary Compensation<br />

1) Musicians shall be compensated for services rendered that are not a<br />

normal part of his/her contractual duties. Supplementary compensation shall be awarded for<br />

special programs (including revivals), events, or days held at the church; OR travel to special<br />

services (including revivals), events, or days held at another church both in <strong>and</strong> out of town.<br />

Financial compensation is awarded the musician ONLY when the performance is NOT on a<br />

day that he/she normally plays for the Church or conducts practice for the choir. If, however,<br />

the performance is on a regular performance or practice day <strong>and</strong> it is done outside of<br />

Harrison County, the musician shall be paid.<br />

2) Supplementary compensation may be awarded for participation according<br />

to the following scale:<br />

a) Performances at Morning Star Baptist Church. . . . . . . . . . $50.00<br />

b) Performances in Jackson, Stone, or Hancock County. . . . $50.00<br />

c) All other performances (in or out of the State of Mississippi) $75.00<br />

d. Purchases<br />

1) Purchases for goods <strong>and</strong> services are initiated with a properly signed<br />

requisition that must be approved by the Finance Committee, if funds are available, who will<br />
