Musician’s Supplementary Compensation 1) Musicians shall be compensated for services rendered that are not a normal part of his/her contractual duties. Supplementary compensation shall be awarded for special programs (including revivals), events, or days held at the church; OR travel to special services (including revivals), events, or days held at another church both in and out of town. Financial compensation is awarded the musician ONLY when the performance is NOT on a day that he/she normally plays for the Church or conducts practice for the choir. If, however, the performance is on a regular performance or practice day and it is done outside of Harrison County, the musician shall be paid. 2) Supplementary compensation may be awarded for participation according to the following scale: a) Performances at Morning Star Baptist Church. . . . . . . . . . $50.00 b) Performances in Jackson, Stone, or Hancock County. . . . $50.00 c) All other performances (in or out of the State of Mississippi) $75.00 d. Under no circumstance will purchases be made without a properly signed requisition that is approved by the Finance Committee and a purchase order issued. 2) It shall be the responsibility of the Finance Committee to keep an accurate and up-to-date fund balance for each department and Ministry of the church. A written report of fund balances will be made available on a quarterly basis to each department and Ministry of the church. 3) Any purchase of $500 or more will require a joint meeting and approval of the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees to determine the worthiness of the purchase to be made (whether or not the purchase should be made). e. Requisitions 1) All purchases and payments for goods and services must be processed via an official Church requisition form duly signed by the department head of the department or Ministry making the request. No requisition will be processed when there are insufficient funds in the department’s or Ministry’s budget. All requisitions will be honored by the Finance Department when funds are available, and it bears the signature (No Rubber Stamps) of the Department Head. 2) In instances where a requisition is denied, it must be done so in consultation with and agreement of a minimum of three members of the Finance Committee or two members of the Finance Committee and the Pastor. In all instances when a requisition is denied, a written statement to that effect must be provided by the Chairman of the Finance Committee and forwarded to the appropriate Department Head within five (5) working days of receipt of the requisition by the Finance Committee. f.
