This year we're celebrating 45 years in business and 25 years as a Škoda dealer, making us the
oldest dealer in the North East.
2018 kicked off with the Yeti replacement, the all new Karoq SUV which has already won
'Whatcar?' Best Family SUV 2018. Škoda joined forces with Paloma Faith to promote the Karoq
which saw her song 'Make Your Own Kind of Music' go to No.1 in the charts. Recently, a more
rugged, 4x4 'Scout' version of the Karoq was announced.
March saw the arrival of a 'Sportline' specification to the Kodiaq lineup and in June the new
'Laurin & Klement' luxury version was announced. The Paris Motorshow will see the debut of the
breathtaking Kodiaq RS, the sporty variant of the popular SUV.
Due to the ever-increasing popularity of Škodas on UK roads and our regional renown, we are
attracting customers from further afield and so decided to make a TV commercial to expand our
reputation. Filming took place recently, so look out for our ad this autumn on ITV.

Our biggest story is the launch of the new, re-styled Fabia supermini, Škoda's best selling model,
which since it's launch in 2000 has gone on to sell more than 4 million to date.

Now Being Taken...
The first revamped Škoda Fabias have started rolling off the production line. The popular car’s
front and rear design have been refashioned, the interior has been refined, and there are exciting
new advanced driver-assistance systems.
The front features remodelled headlamps and a boldly redesigned grille. This is the first time the
FABIA has been fitted with highly efficient LED light technology both for the headlights and for
the rear light clusters.

The redesigned Fabia also
comes with an expanded range
of advanced driver- assistance
systems. The newly available Blind
Spot Detection alerts the driver to
the presence of vehicles in the blind
spot or approaching quickly from
behind. Rear Traffic Alert keeps an
eye on what is happening behind
the vehicle and warns the driver of
any collision risk when reversing.
Light Assist automatically
switches from full to dipped beam
as soon as the system detects an
oncoming vehicle, making it easier
for the driver and road users to
drive at night.

Under new MOT legislation defects now fall into new
categories: Minor, Major and Dangerous. Vehicle faults
categorised as ‘Dangerous’ will now make it illegal for a
motorist to drive away in their vehicle - even if it has time to
run on it’s existing MOT certificate.
MOT testing results are linked via the internet to VOSA
(Vehicle & Operator Services Agency), transmitting information
about failed tests in real time. This information, along with
number plate recognition cameras means that, drivers detected
on the road could face a fine of £2,500 and three penalty points.

This July, we supplied Cleveland
Fire Brigade with 14 new Skoda
Octavia Scout Estate Cars.

As usual, Škoda had several big wins
including ‘Best Family Car’ for the
Octavia and ‘Best Estate Car’ for
the Superb. The Fabia ran away with
the ‘Best Used Car’ prize, the Fabia
Estate was named ‘Best Estate Car
less than £20000’ and the Citigo
‘Best City Car £9.5k-£11k’.
Other winners were the Karoq, which
was awarded 'Best Family Suv -
£20k-£30k' and the Superb which
won ‘Best Executive Car sub £25k’.

With the new Karoq Scout,
