Full stops, question marks <strong>and</strong><br />
exclamation marks<br />
A punctuation mark at the end of a sentence can be:<br />
• a full stop<br />
• a question mark to find out something<br />
• an exclamation mark to show strong feelings.<br />
1. Read the text <strong>and</strong> write the correct mark at the end of each sentence.<br />
Omar <strong>and</strong> Jamal went trail bike riding on the weekend<br />
When they had not<br />
returned by five o’clock that afternoon, their parents became very worried about<br />
them<br />
‘What could have happened to them<br />
’ wailed Mum. ‘They both know<br />
the track well <strong>and</strong> they are sensible kids Oh dear I hope they haven’t had<br />
an accident I’m never letting them go by themselves again ’ she stated<br />
‘Why are you worrying so much ’ said Dad. ‘Listen I can hear their bikes<br />
now ’<br />
Soon after, the boys returned<br />
‘Where on earth have you been<br />
’ yelled Dad. ‘We have been worried<br />
sick No trail bike riding for you for two weeks You’re grounded ’<br />
