NATIONAL EXECUTIVE & A.G.M. 3-5 AUGUST AT NAPIER James Lawrie and Leon Salt attended these meetings. The following is a brief summary of the topics discussed and decisions taken over the weekend. A full report of both meetings can be emailed to members upon request. It was agreed to increase annual membership subscriptions by $5 per full member and $1 per joint member as from the coming year. David Yorke did not seek re-election to the Management Committee and as there were no nominations, a vacancy exists that will be filled through co-opting a member to the committee. The results of voting for the two Notices of Motion regarding defining Post 80 Vehicles were announced. Notice of Motion 2 was agreed to, which is as follows: To amend Clause 3.1 (f) to read: “Motor vehicles constructed on or after the 1 st January 1981 provided that no vehicle is deemed eligible for this category until the day immediately following the 30 th anniversary of its original date of construction as determined in accordance with Section 2 of the Club Vehicle Technical Code, such vehicles to be known as Post 1980 Vehicles. (Refer By-laws)”- For 1192, against 160. To date, the VCC has issued 938 VICs to non-VCC member vehicles. At $100 per vehicle this equals a gross income for the VCC of $93,800 for these VICs. The total number of VICs issued to date is 11,204. The club database records a total of 20,206 vehicles belonging to the 8,717 members of the club. There has been no movement on 12 month WoFs for club eligible vehicles. Some horror stories are emerging from Australia with regard to asbestos in cars. The Australian Govt has a zero tolerance policy toward any trace of asbestos and this affects cars being transported from here or other places to take part in a rally and return. 35 branches have their newsletters posted to the national website each month and are receiving around 1,600 “reads” per month. The VCC Facebook page has 1080 followers and Ross Holden, Communications Officer tries to put a posting up every day. If anyone has pictures or posts they would like to share, just send them through to Ross at coms@vcc.org.nz. The North Island Club Captain is organising a Club Captain’s Tour running from Tauranga to Wanganui and calling on the Taupo, Hawkes Bay, Central Hawkes Bay and Manawatu 7
