Katherine R. Giordani, 70

DERRY, N.H. — Katherine R. Giordani,
70, of Derry, N.H., peacefully passed
Wednesday August 22, 2018 in her
home surrounded by her family. She
was born in Peabody on October 21,
1947, a daughter of the late Louis
Karakaedos and Dorothy (Perry) Karakaedos-Sharkey.
She had been a resident
of Derry, N.H. for the past 38 years,
formerly living in Lynn.
She is survived by her husband, Albert
Giordani of Derry; three daughters,
Corinna Middleton and husband James
of Derry, Sabrina Graichen and husband Gary of
Derry, Andrea Giordani and wife Sara (Handschuh)
Giordani of Laurel, Md.; six grandchildren, James
“Brandon” Middleton and husband Eric Nguyen,
Kathryn Wessel and husband John Ross, Shanyn
Katwal and husband Sulabh, and Lynsie, Julie, and
Camryn Graichen; fi ve great-grandchildren, Isabella,
Rhys, Ryder, Weston, and Bodhi; her sister, Suzanne
McIntosh and husband Gordon of Lynn; three brothers,
Robert Karakaedos and wife Joanne of Lynn
John Sharkey and wife Linda of Lynn and William
Sharkey and wife Patricia of Malden; numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as dear family
and friends in Aruba. She was predeceased by her
siblings, Sevestos “Sam” Karakaedos, Helen “Elaine”
Hunter, George Karakaedos, Andres Karakaedos, Anastasia
Voyiagis, Agnes Marquis, and Andrew Karakaedos.
Katherine had the most beautiful, selfl ess soul
and is known for her generosity, compassion, and
love for others. During her 53 years of marriage to
Al, the two soul mates created the most beautiful
PEABODY — Mark L. Sewell Sr., 60, of
Peabody, passed away Saturday, Aug.
18, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Lynn, Mark was the son of
Louise (LaLiberte) Sewell of Lynn and
the late Donald Sewell. He was the
beloved husband of Kathryn (Walker)
Sewell of Peabody, with whom he
shared 41 years of marriage.
Mark was the devoted father of Mark
L. Sewell Jr. and his wife, Tarra of Malden
and Leanne Foye and her husband,
David of Fitzwilliam, N.H.; and the dear
brother of Donald Sewell Jr. of Lynn, Daryl Sewell of
Ipswich and Yvonne Sewell of Lynn. Mark is also survived
by several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces
and nephews.
Mark graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical
Institute with the Class of 1976 and worked as an
auto body technician for more than 40 years. He
was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping,
canoeing and fi shing around New England including
in New Hampshire. He volunteered with the Boy

the family grows. Katherine was most
proud of her 3 Daughters and always
doted over her Grandchildren and Great
Grandchildren. Katherine had a love for
music and dancing, and together the
two were unstoppable on the dance
fl oor! Katherine and Al traveled the
world side by side and could always be
spotted in a crowd with their matching
outfi ts! The duo had a love for Aruba
and traveled there annually with family
and a group of friends that became
family over the years. In Aruba, Katherine was better
known as “Jingle Bells” as she would sing and dance
while winning big in the casino! Katherine was fantastic
in the kitchen and loved making desserts for
all! Katherine enjoyed bowling and Friday night dinners
at Derry Pizza. Katherine was passionate about
sports and her family is certain that the Red Sox and
Patriots could hear her cheering them on from her
“parlor”! Katherine also had a passion for pranking
others, with each prank followed by her contagious
laughter that brought joy to all. Katherine’s presence,
friendship, and love was a gift to all!
Service information: Following cremation,
calling hours will be held on Friday, August
31st from 3 - 7 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral
Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A
memorial will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral
home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions

Scouts, Troop 59 in West Peabody and
was especially proud of helping his son,
Mark Jr., earn his Eagle Scout designation.
He enjoyed spending time with his
family including outings to Salem Willows.
He also enjoyed traveling around
New England to antique car shows and
restoring cars including a ’52 DeSoto
that he had at one time.

was held on Friday, Aug. 24 from the
CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157
Maple St., Lynn, at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral
Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple
St., Lynn. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery,
Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Aug.
23 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. For the online

PEABODY — Mr.
Carmine Zambella,
80 years of
Peabody, died on
Thursday August
23, 2018 at home
surrounded by his
loving family. He
is the husband
of Mrs. Virginia
(Guanci) Zambella.
He was born in
Atripalda, Provence
of Avellino, Italy, the
son of the late Pellegrino and
Angelina (Ginolfo) Zambella. He
was raised in Italy and attended
schools in Italy. He moved to
the United States in 1961.
He was employed as a butcher
for Henry’s Market in Beverly
for 21 years. He also worked at
the Hilltop, Purity Supreme and
Fulchini Bakery. While in Italy
he served in the military. He
was an active communicant
of St. Ann’s Parish in Peabody.
Mr. Zambella was undefeated
in Bocce. He was an avid gardener,
amazing baker and cook.
He loved to travel and visited
family in Italy and England. He
went to Israel, Australia, New
Zealand, Switzerland, Holland
and many other countries. He
was beloved by his family, and
his many nieces, nephews and
godchildren. He was loved by
all and always had a big beautiful
smile for everyone. He was
faithful to the Lord and devoted
to his wife and son.
In addition to his wife Virginia,
with whom he shared 58 years
of marriage he leaves his son,
Antonio Zambella of Peabody.

Maria and Gerardo Picariello all
of Lynn. He also leaves many
nieces, nephews, grandnieces
and grandnephews and many
godchildren.

funeral was held on Wednesday,
August 29, 2018, at 9
a.m. from the SOLIMINE FU-
NERAL HOME, 426 Broadway
(Rte 129) Lynn followed by a
funeral mass in Saint Ann’s
Church, Peabody at 10 a.m.
Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery,
