7 of the hottest looks from this year’s Salone del Mobile.
WORDS BY JENNIFER CHOO IMAGES BY STUDIO 216
Every year Milan hosts the Salone del Mobile, the biggest event in the design calendar, and its many
off-site events. For one week, the Italian city is taken over by brands showcasing their latest designs
and international creatives, buyers and press eager to discover what’s new and what’s hot.
Despite being uncertain times for the world at large, the vibe at this year’s 57th edition seemed
like big business was back with brands pulling out the stops with lavish stands, luxurious pieces and classy
styling. Here are some key pieces from the brands for your consideration:
CIERRE
Romano and Cesarina Conficconi founded
Cierre in 1976 on a dream of creating products
that were their own – designed and realised – thanks
to artisan know-how passed on from generation to
generation, perfected with passion before finding their
ultimate homes.
Since the 1970s, each generation of the family has contributed to
enriching the company’s expertise. The “ living in leather” concept originated in
the ‘80s thanks to an idea developed by Stefano and Alberto Conficconi, who decided
to highlight the uniqueness of Cierre’s 100% leather products. With modern
management and a dynamic productive process, the next generation has made Cierre
a well-established name in the European network of “ Made in Italy” products, without
losing the “family-business spirit” that characterises and drives the company.
