11 Year 10 had an action packed project week with only one day actually spent at King’s! Over the course of the week students completed their practice Duke of Edinburgh expedition, which saw them spend two days developing their leadership and character skills with other students from their year group. Students now get to complete their actual silver expedition leading to a qualification which will stand them in good stead for the future. Students also visited LJMU where they had a tour of the campus, participated in some taster sessions with University lecturers and gained first-hand university life experience from current students. Many students returned and said that what they had seen had impacted on their future flight-paths, whether it be a potential change in future career path or simply giving them to extra motivation needed to undertake the final year of their GCSE course with the end goal firmly in mind. Year 10 students also worked with Warrington Youth Club to take part in a morning of sessions helping to strengthen positive mind-set and resilience. There was even some yoga as part of the mindfulness sessions!
