summer wardrobe
to look fabulous:
A plain white t-shirt: A
plain white shirt is classic
and timeless. Whether it is
a v-neck, cropped or just
a simple t-shirt, it can go
well with anything. Longer
is better, so you can play
around with knotting it at
your waist, trying it tucked
halfway in, or just leaving
it hanging out under an
oversized coat. You can
pair this off with shorts
or jeans or a really cute
dungaree Perfect slouchy
knitwear or loose sweater
This is a current obsession
of mine right now. It is
easy comfortable and light
so it makes it a favorite in
this hot weather. Wear it
on a cool summer night
with a pair of denim
shorts. Or with a pair of
white jeans and heels for
a more sophisticated look.
A black V-Neck Black can
go with so many things
and it can really dress up
a look. Wear it with dark
jeans, over a swimsuit, or
with shorts, and you’ve got
a totally stylish look going
on.
A white/black mini dress
This you can wear to a
picnic or something as
serious as a first date. For
different looks you can
accessorize differently
with pumps or heels to
suit the occasio Cut off
denim You can daring
and wear short shorts or if
you’re self- conscious there
are knee length jeans that
can fit with any occasion
or outfit. Or do the whole
denim on denim which
can be really cute and
casual.
Lastly accessories, accessories and more accessories!! They literally make or break an outfit.
You can chose small pieces like bracelets, hand charms or a cute watch or a pendant. If you are
more daring you can wear big and bright neck pieces (red, orange, or gold) and pair them off with
a really bright lipstick and shocking nail polish to be the ultimate summer girl.
Does Size Matter?
Men’s and Women’s Views on Penis Size Across the Lifespan
The media equate a man’s penis size with his power and masculinity. Views about
penis size were assessed in an Internet survey of 52,031 heterosexual men and women.
Most men (66%) rated their penis as average, 22% as large, and 12% as small. Selfreported
penis size was correlated positively with height and negatively with body
fat level. Whereas 85% of women were satisfied with their partner’s penis size, only
55% of men were satisfied with their penis size, 45% wanted to be larger, and 0.2%
wanted to be smaller. Satisfaction did not vary across age groups from 18 to 65. Men
reporting a larger-than-average penis rated their appearance most favorably, suggesting
a possible confidence effect of perceived large penis size.
TIPS • FOR HIM/ Mans HEALTH
1995; van Driel, Weijmar
Schultz, van De Wiel,
& Mensink, 1998), perhaps
because men consider
the size of their penis to be
an important
feature of their sexual
prowess (Francken, van
de Wiel, van Driel, &
Weijmar Schultz, 2002).
Men’s concerns about
penis size are fueled by
cultural messages
equating penis size with
masculinity.
Kilmartin (2000, pp.
215–216) observed,
“‘Real men are . . .
described as having
huge penises. . . . In fact,
the penis is sometimes
described as ‘his
manhood.’”
Popular media, especially
TV and men’s
magazines, frequently
emphasize the connection
between penis size and
masculinity (Lehman,
1993). Pornographic
movies, magazines,
and Web sites featuring
men with very large
penises also reinforce
the cultural message
associating
large penis size and
masculinity.
Women’s exaggerated
sexual responses to
overly endowed men in
these pornographic images
may also convince men
that women have
strong preferences for large
penises.
Most men are aware
that the penises in these
pornographic
images are atypically large,
but persistent exposure
to these images may cause
men to overestimate
the average penis size and
underestimate
the size of their own penis.
Men’s worries about their
personal inadequacies
have created a large market
for penis enlargement
products and procedures.
A recent issue of For Him
Magazine featured separate
full-page ads for three different
penis enlargement
pills: Argionic Desire
(2005), Magna-RX
(2005), and ProPlus (2005).
These advertisements
promised an increase in
penis size of up
to 5 in. over a 60-day
period. The ads also
included testimonials that
reinforce men’s belief
that women are more
sexually satisfied by
larger penises: “I’m [now]
8 in. and much
penile
thicker. My girlfriend surgery.
wants it all the time”
(ProPlus, 2005, p. 131).
Instead of taking pills,
some some men purchase
weight systems, stretching
devices, vacuum
pumps, or even silicone
injections in an attempt
to lengthen their penis
(Templer, 2002). Some
men who seek more
dramatic results undergo
enlargement
Advertisements
for
surgical enlargement of the
penis are featured in
the sports sections of major
newspapers such as
the Los Angeles Times and
include captions like
“Size Matters” (Beverly
Hills Surgical, 2005)
and “Bigger is Better”
(Total Life Enhancement,
2005a). These ads promise
men great benefits to
pursuing surgery, such as
increased confidence and
with the difference in our
sex life. His increased length,
and especially his added
thickness have satisfied me
more than I ever dreamed
possible. (Total Life
Enhancement, 2005b)
desirability to women.
Advertisers’ Web sites
feature before-andafter
surgery photos and
testimonials, including
some from women.
Illustrative is the letter
from
“D.T.,” who wrote,
I was satisfied with our
lovemaking . . . . However,
my
husband did not like the size
of his penis . . . . Since his
surgery, he has more
confidence. And, to my
surprise,
I have been overwhelmed
24 Royal • Rouge | Lifestyle Magazine
The flourishing penis
enlargement industry
indicates that at least some
men worry enough
about penis size to spend
money on costly products
and on potentially risky
surgery to boost
their self-confidence.
However, little is known
about how many men
have such concerns and
whether women do attach
importance to penis
HOW TO:
START AND DEVELOPE YOUR
BUSINESS
There has never been a better time to start a business. 2011/12 marked a
record high for doing just that; over 450,000 people set up a company and
became their own boss. This is your opportunity to join the 4.14 million self-employed
people and the 4.5 million small businesses in the UK.
THESE ARE ENTERPRISING TIMES
Students are turning their talent into a way of making a
living whilst experienced professionals are opting for the
freedom and flexibility that comes with selfemployment.
Mums are spotting gaps in the market and the over
50’s are surging ahead when it comes to launching
new ventures. No matter your age or standing, there is
potential to turn a passion or skill from your professional
or social life into a bright business idea. And by doing so
embracing free and low-cost technology that enables you
to sell to local markets and reach customers on a global
scale.
#TIP
No matter your age
or standing, there is
potential to turn a
passion or skill from
your professional or
social life into a bright
business idea.
Easily said and easily
done: 3 good reasons to
start a business today:
1.
Low start-up
costs – most
businesses can
now start on
a bootstrap of a budget
and for less than £100.
With a smartphone and
business card in hand, you
can make sales and set up
operations with ease, and
from home.
2.
Enabling
technology
– social
media
platforms and trading sites
offer start-ups a powerful
route to market. Selling
and promoting yourself
online is affordable
and achievable and
successful businesses are
being built on Facebook
and promoted via Twitter,
YouTube and LinkedIn,
selling everything from
morph suits to graphic
design, financial services
and artisan goods.
3. business, you
High level of
support – when
starting a
won’t be alone! There is an
abundance of support to
help you start and grow,
including:
BUSINESS • GENIUS
public and private sector
support – assisting with
essentials like workspace,
guidance and finance
corporate brands – who
are opening up accelerators
and their own retail
outlets to
help small businesses
grow at speed
peers – other small
business owners are on
hand to deliver advice and
expert mentoring
When
starting out in business, there are important things to
consider.
Ask yourself – is your idea a sound business proposition? Is
there a market and demand for you to make sales and make a profit? Think about the cost
and time elements of the business. Are you aiming for something innovative and niche
and / or can your product or service match or beat your competition?
You don’t need to know the answers immediately; you can make a plan and work
on this whilst ‘Working 5 to 9’ - keeping hold of the day job, being a parent or
studying by day and building the business at night and weekends. And you’re not alone
– there is plenty of guidance and support available to help you bring a business idea to
life.
Health Tips
For 2018
Dedicate yourself to a healthy lifestyle in
2018 with these food, nutrition and exercise
tips.
1.
Eat Breakfast
There’s no better way to start your morning than
with a healthy breakfast. Include lean protein,
whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Try oatmeal cooked
with low-fat milk, sliced almonds and berries, or top a
toaster waffle with low-fat yogurt and fruit. Find more
quick breakfast ideas at
www.eatright.org/nutritiontipsheets.
2.
Make Half Your Plate Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and veggies add color, flavor and texture
plus vitamins, minerals and fiber to your plate.
Make 2 cups of fruit and 2 ½ cups of vegetables your daily
goal. Don’t let winter stop you from enjoying produce. It
may be harder to find fresh options, but frozen and canned
are great alternatives. See “20 Ways to Enjoy More Fruits
and Vegetables” at www.eatright.org/nutritiontipsheets.
Watch Portion
Sizes
Do you know
if you’re eating the proper
portion size? Get out the
measuring cups and see
how close your portions
are to the recommended
serving size. Using smaller
plates, bowls and glasses
can help you keep portions
under control. Use half
your plate for fruits and
vegetables and the other
half for grains and lean
meat, poultry, seafood or
beans. To complete the
meal, add a glass of fatfree
or low-fat milk or a
serving of fat-free yogurt
for dessert. Visit www.
choosemyplate.gov.
4.
Be Active
Regular physical
activity
lowers blood pressure and
helps your body control
stress and weight. Start by
doing what exercise you
can for at least 10 minutes
at a time. Children and
teens should get 60 or
more minutes of physical
activity per day, and adults
should get two hours and
30 minutes per week.
You don’t have to hit the
gym—take a walk after
dinner or play a game of
catch or basketball.
Fix Healthy
Snacks
Healthy snacks
can sustain your energy
levels between meals.
Whenever possible, make
your snacks combination
snacks. Choose from the
MyPlate food groups:
whole grains, fruits,
vegetables, low-fat or fatfree
dairy, lean protein or
nuts. Try low-fat yogurt
with fruit, whole-grain
crackers with low-fat
cheese, or a small portion
of nuts with an apple
or banana. For more
snack ideas, see “25
Food Labels
Ever wonder
about what the numbers
in the Nutrition Facts
panel really mean? Or,
the difference between
“reduced fat” and “low
fat”? The Food and Drug
Administration has strict
guidelines on how food
label terms can be used.
Follow
Food Safety
Guidelines
The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention
estimates that roughly
one in six Americans
gets sick from foodborne
disease each year. Reduce
your chances of getting
sick by practicing proper
hand washing. Separate
raw meat, poultry and
seafood from ready-toeat
foods like bread and
vegetables. Use a food
thermometer to make sure
food is properly cooked.
Refrigerate food quickly
at a proper temperature
to slow bacteria growth.
Dine Out
without
Ditching
Your Goals
You can dine at a
restaurant and stick to
your healthy eating plan!
The key is to plan ahead,
ask questions and choose
foods carefully. Think
about nutritious items you
can add to your plate—
fruits, veggies, lean meat,
poultry or fish—and look
for grilled, baked, broiled
or steamed items. See
Run” at
11. Research
Enact Family
Meal Time
shows that family meals
promote healthier eating.
Plan to eat as a family
at least a few times each
week in 2013. Set a regular
mealtime. Turn off the
TV, phones and other
electronic devices to
encourage mealtime talk.
Get kids involved in meal
planning and cooking and
use this time to teach them
about good nutrition. For
these healthy lunch ideas.
They’re easy to fix the
tortilla filled with chicken,
mushrooms, onions and
tomatoes; baked potato
13. Our bodies
Drink More
Water
depend on water to
regulate temperature,
transport nutrients and
oxygen to cells, carry
away waste products
and more. For generally
healthy people who live
in temperate climates,
the Dietary Reference
Intakes from the Institute
of Medicine recommend a
total daily beverage intake
of 13 cups for men and 9
