INTRODUCTION
The Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) was started
by the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association
in 1999. A number of the past presidents namely, Mr.
Amjad Ali, Mr. Anthony Rahael and Mr. Anthony Aboud,
can be accredited with the conceptualization of this
event. They moved this idea from its embryonic stage to
an upward trajectory of its lifecycle. TIC was born out of
the need to highlight and promote the role of business
in Trinidad and Tobago. From its humble beginnings
in 1999 at the Queen’s Park Oval Car park, with a little
over 15 booths, presented under make shift tents, with
an estimated walk through traffic of approximately 250
people, TIC has grown significantly since then. Today,
TIC has outgrown all localities for hosting in Trinidad
and Tobago; such is the magnitude of the show in its
present orientation. Our last rendition (2018) saw over
15,000 persons passing through the event, with over 28
countries participating as exhibitors and buyers and over
240 booths (maximum capacity) sold out.
At the core of this TIC initiative, exhibitors with innovative
products and services meet thousands of buyers seeking
new suppliers, goods and services as well as investment
opportunities. In addition, TIC also offers an informative
business education programme and a structured

Every year we aim to have a full contingent of local, regional and international
exhibitors showcased at TIC. We do hope to have you on board with us in
2019, our 20th anniversary year, where we plan to have a greater showing for all
participants, sponsors and contributors to TIC.
