Tour Operator has built four comfortable
mountain lodges, along the route. Every
lodge offers different and exceptional views
of the Apu Ausangate, and all of them were
built according to ecological criteria, in
harmony with their natural surroundings, as
well as with the local architectural style and
culture´s aesthetics.
Choquequirao Trek
Hike from 4 to 5 days
Choquequirao means "cradle of gold" in
Quechua although this is probably not its
original Inca name. It is another "lost city of
the Incas" located high on a ridge spur
almost 1750m above the raging glacier-fed
Apurimac River and surrounded by towering
snow-capped peaks.
The US explorer Gary Ziegler suggests that
Choquequirao may have been the place
where the last Inca, Tupac Amaru, was raised
among Inca Priestesses. The abundance of
many double jamb doorways and niches
indicates that the place was held in high
status.

Hikes from 4 to 6 days
This trek is often referred as the "alternative
Inca Trail". Although many guide books and
travel agencies often describe this route as
"the-road-less-travelled" or a great trek to
"get away from the crowds" this can be
misleading. There is currently no control
over the maximum number of trekkers so
during the peak season (June - September)
there can sometimes be more trekkers than
the Classic Inca Trail and each year it is
becoming more popular especially with Latin
American visitors
