11. Increase Pro-Social Behaviors in the Community: Internships, Jobs, and/ or Community
Service
a. 75% of program participants are placed in Jobs, Internships, and/ or long-term
Community Service activities.
12. Decrease Criminal Activity and Violence
a. 85% or program participants demonstrate decreased aggressive behaviors by 25%;
b. There is generally a 45% reduction in program participant arrests by the end of the
second cycle year.
13. Decrease Involvement in Gangs
a. Approximately 85% of program participants demonstrate a 40% or better reduction in
gang-related activities;
14. Decrease Alcohol and Drug use
a. Approximately 85% of program participants demonstrate a 50% or better reduction in
alcohol and drug use;
15. Improve School Functioning and Performance
a. Approximately 85% of program participants demonstrate a 65% or better increase in
school attendance;
b. Approximately 85% of program participants demonstrate improved academic
performance (grades are measured by report cards).
16. Improve Family Functioning and Interaction
a. Almost 85% of the parents of program participants, and their families, attend at least one
(1) Family Involvement trip; and
i. increase time spent in family activities;
ii. report increased quality of interactions.
17. Increase Involvement in Extra-Curricular Activities (Sports/ Music/ Arts/ etc.)
a. Approximately 85% of program participants participate in at least one extra-curricular
activity;
i. 50% of those usually participate for at least 5 months.
