Dollywood—the “Entertainment Capital of the Smokies” will be our first destination. See shows from Contemporary County to 50’s Rock and Roll fill the stages, and master craftsmen demonstrate glassblowing, blacksmithing, wagon making and more. DAY 5 | Great Smoky Mountain National Park / Blue Ridge Parkway (B) Today we venture into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. See a film at Sugarlands Visitor Center that tells you all about this beautiful park. Enjoy a break near Cherokee before we continue on the southern route of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Overnight Asheville, NC DAY 6 | Biltmore House/Billy Graham Library (B) The Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville welcomes us this morning. This is the largest private home in America. You’ll have time to tour the home, stroll through the gardens and visit the gift shop. We depart for Charlotte for an inspirational visit to the Billy Graham Library. Learn what can happen through a life yielded to God as state-of-the-art exhibits, multimedia displays and films share about the life of a humble preacher. Overnight Concord, NC DAY 7 | Old Salem (B, L) Our journey continues today to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Through a self-guided tour of Old Salem we will gain insight into life in Salem during the 18th and 19th centuries. Enjoy lunch at the historical Old Salem Tavern. Overnight Cross Lanes, WV DAY 8 | The Ark Encounter (B, D) How big was Noah’s ark? How did Noah live with all the animals? You will be ready to take on all the sights after a good night’s rest. Overnight (4) Washington, D.C. area DAY 2 | U.S. Capitol Visitor Center and Capitol Tour/Library of Congress/Arlington National Cemetery (B, D) Welcome to our Nation’s Capital to celebrate spring. Your departure has been timed for the average mean blossom dates for the over 3,000 Yoshino Cherry Trees that bloom along the Tidal Basin. This morning visit the U. S. Capitol Visitor Center where you’ll see a film on the historical significance of our capital followed by a guided tour. (Photo ID is required.) Also, tour the beautiful Library of Congress with more than 650 miles of bookshelves and 138 million books. While on Capitol Hill there’s a photo stop at the Supreme Court Building. This afternoon visit Arlington National Cemetery to include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Changing of the Guard (subject to conditions), John F. Kennedy’s eternal flame, the Space Shuttle Challenger Astronauts Memorial and more. This afternoon also provides a stop at the Marine Corps Memorial (Iwo Jima Statue). DAY 3 | White House Visitors Center/Potomac River Lunch Cruise/Museum of the Bible/Tidal Basin Cherry Blossom Walk-Jefferson, Martin Luther King Jr., FDR Memorials/Illumination Monument Tour (B, L, D) Start your day at the White House Visitor’s Center where you will see over 90 artifacts from the White House collection along with a documentary film, “White House: Reflections from Within." Enjoy a relaxing cruise with lunch on the Potomac River for a different view of our nation’s capital. This afternoon spend time at the Museum of the Bible. This amazing state-of-the-art museum tells the compelling history of the Bible. Take a stroll along the Tidal Basin to view the beautiful Japanese cherry trees (exact cherry blossom blooming is subject to nature and cannot be guaranteed). See the Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., and FDR Memorials on your walk. Vernon/Old Town Alexandria (B, D) This morning start the day at the National World War II, Vietnam, Korean, and Lincoln Memorials which honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country. This afternoon visit Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate. The new Ford Orientation Center and Museum offers visitors a chance to experience Washington’s life through movies and exhibits. Stroll the gardens of the 45-acre estate and take in the views of the Potomac River from the mansion’s piazza. Take a driving tour of Old Town Alexandria where you will see Christ Church, dating back to 1773, the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, Stabler- Leadbeater Apothecary Shop and more. DAY 5 | Pentagon Memorial/Smithsonian Institute of Choice/Fly Home (B) This morning visit the Pentagon Memorial dedicated to those who fell victim to the September 11, 2001 attack.
