Increased requirements in suspended applications
To save lives and avoid subsequent costs, special requirements
are set for the fireproof installation of pipes within the space
between storey ceilings and suspended ceilings:
In accordance with LAR (MLAR) 04/2016, a protection
objective of 30 minutes fire resistance for self-supporting
suspended ceilings (classified suspended ceiling)
applies.
In case of fire, such self-supporting suspended
ceilings must not be subjected to additional stress
or even destroyed by falling lines, construction
components or similar
Fire protection certificate:
testing rather than calculating
Current tests to determine deformation behaviour from the RAL pipe
fixing quality association highlight significant deviations between the
verification determined via the Eurocode and the fire tests conducted.
The RAL pipe fixing quality association recommends that corresponding
verifications be carried out regarding the deformation behaviour
based on the fire tests conducted.
