November 9-10<br />
This November, New Brighton will again<br />
be filled the Rumble of V8’s, amazing<br />
50’s style outfits and plenty of awesome<br />
Rockabilly and Rock’n’Roll music. We<br />
welcome you to join us for the 5th Annual<br />
New Brighton Rockabilly Show and Shine!<br />
The weekend kicks off on Friday the<br />
9th with the Friday Night Street Party, in<br />
collaboration with New Brighton Business<br />
and Landowners Association. The evening<br />
will start with Hot Rods, Classic and Muscle<br />
Cars cruising across the city to park up<br />
in Brighton Mall. There will be two live<br />
bands playing, the Day Wear section of the<br />
Southern Belle NZ Pageant and many of the<br />
local shops and eateries will be open for you<br />
to see what New Brighton has to offer. This<br />
free event will run from 6.30-9.00pm.<br />
On Saturday 10th Nov, New Brighton<br />
Rockabilly Show and Shine returns to<br />
Rawhiti Domain (entry off Shaw Ave,<br />
New Brighton end). With hundreds of<br />
cars on display, around 100 market stalls,<br />
live music, kid’s entertainment, Belle and<br />
Beau competition, Drag Race, Strong Arm<br />
contest and the Beach Wear section of the<br />
Southern Belle NZ pageant, there is plenty<br />
to keep the whole family occupied for the<br />
entire day. Public entry is by Gold coin<br />
donation with free public parking courtesy<br />
of the New Brighton Cricket Club. Display<br />
Vehicles $10.00. As per previous years, all<br />
profits from the day event go back to the<br />
New Brighton Community.<br />
Last year’s event saw Rockabilly Show<br />
and Shine distribute over $5000.00 to New<br />
Brighton Project, New Brighton Cricket<br />
Club, New Brighton Catholic School, New<br />
Brighton Community Gardens and The<br />
Annual I Love New Brighton Family day.<br />
