Our playground, 8000 square kilometers, some 200 kilometers above the arctic
circle with jaw dropping terrain. Ranging from stunning fjords in Norway to the
highest peak in Sweden, Kebnekaise. Our passion for skiing and our devotion to
creating a unique and exclusive experience for each and everyone of our guests

Why we exist
Our driving force is our passion for skiing,
our love and respect for the beautiful
untouched Arctic landscape and being able
to share this with others. We eat, sleep and
breathe skiing. We have fine-tuned every
part of the experience during almost two
decades now, both on and off the mountains.
Our dedicated team
Our guides are all passionate skiers and never
stop exploring new zones to find unridden
terrain. We do this because we love it!
However, safety is our first priority and all
of our guides average more than fiteen years
of ski guiding experience in avalanche and
alpine mountain terrain. Arctic Elements

The mountains
The Skanderna mountains and the Atlantic Ocean meet here on
the border between Sweden and Norway. A high alpine area, a
hidden pearl, a skier’s paradise - unregulated, wild and undisturbed.
This is where your dream comes true!

The snow
Riksgränsen is the area in Sweden where you are most certain of
snow, with 5-8 metres per year. Dry, fine and cold snow comes
in from the west and is dumped over the mountains. Despite the
northern location, the temperature is pleasant due to its proximity
to the Gulf Stream.

The sea
The Norwegian side offers stunning scenery
of the fjords where we start from 1200
meters above sea level and ski all the way to
the sea. Over the season the snow will change
from cold and dry winter snow to fine spring
snow and it is not uncommon to experience
both, basically skiing from winter to summer
in one ride.

The Aurora Borealis
During most of the season you will be able
to experience the unbelievable colors of the
Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern
Light, move across the Arctic sky.

The midnight sun
From mid May the truly unique and surreal
experience of skiing under the midnight
sun is available and the lifts run long after
midnight sun in full sunshine in June.

Downdays
Snowmobile
Challenge yourself on a powerful snowmobile on frozen lakes and
in off-track terrain around Riksgränsen.
Snowkiting
Experience the thrill of snowkiting, powered by the wind. Rig up
and get going.
Ice climbing
Let the ice axes and crampons become your tools for climbing a
vertical icefall.
Dogsledding
Experience the sensation of being in control of your own dog
sleds. Slide on the glittering snow in complete silence.
Speed boat in Norwegian fjords
Rib-boat in the ice free fjords around Narvik. Speed combined
with eagle safari, shrimps and white wine makes your day.
Lift-bound skiing
Skiing or snowboarding in the skiresort of Riksgränsen or Narvik.
Direct access from both our lodges.

The Meteorologen Boutique Hotel
Arctic Elements own lodge in the legendary mountain resort
of Riksgränsen. “Metro” is housed in a more than a century old
timber building that use to be a meteorology station. Recently
lovingly restored to a personal and cozy hotel where its easy
to feel at home. The staff have developed service and amenities
with heliskiers in mind and offer delicious gourmet food, all
locally sourced.

Narvik Mountain Lodge
Arctic Elements private lodge with a rustic touch of the Arctic
wilderness offers stunning views of the fjord and the beautiful
Lofoten Peninsula in the horizon. From here you can experience the
Aurora Borealis dance across the evening sky with the lights from
the city below. A maximum of five people is housed here with direct
access to the most spectacular helipad in Europe. Hot tub, massage
and yoga awaits for you after a full day of deep powder skiing.

The history of Riksgränsen
More than a century ago a railway was built through to
haul valuable iron ore from the swedish mines in Kiruna
to the ice-free port in Narvik, Norway. The border
hamlet of Riksgransen (the name in swedish means “state
border”) appeared almost overnight as a custom stop. A
road here wasn’t built until 1984. Still, this was where
Sweden’s modern ski tourism began in the late 1920s,
more than 200 kilometers above the Arctic Circle.
The first ski lift was installed in 1952 and Ulf ”Mr Ski”
Edborg started the first ski school in Sweden in 1960.
Admission price: 1 USD. According to ”Mr Ski” the 50s
to 70s was the hay day in Riksgränsen with only hard
core skiers and hardly no regulations in and around the
slopes, and it became a legendary place for the swedes.
A century after the railway opened Riksgränsen became
a world-class metropolis for free ride skiing and outdoor
recreation. Mr Ski was probably the first heliskier in
Sweden in the late 60s, in a small helicopter with only
him and a pilot aboard.
