Chelsey Allen, a holistic nutritionist, started selling
Seafoam Organic Juice and Smoothies last summer at the
Sechelt Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market. She is passionate about
optimizing health through diet and has formulated some
delicious products. “Our most popular items,” she says, “are
probably the Beachcomber smoothie (spinach, apple, banana,
ginger, almond milk, lemon, kelp powder) and the Pacifica
juice (pineapple, orange, kale, turmeric, cucumber, lemon).”
These beverages look gorgeous. Deep emerald greens and
eye-popping yellow turmeric. Add beets for a liver boost and
not-unpleasant Bram Stoker colour effect. It’s like walking
around sipping from a jewel.

from herbs and supplements such as ginger, turmeric, houseground
flax and chia seeds, local, wild-harvested kelp powder,
and spirulina. Everything is chosen for freshness and nutrient
density. Chelsey is full of information about antioxidants
and inflammation busters and is happy to give advice and
customize products. Summer hours: Wednesday through
