ENRICHING, EDUCATING, AND ENTERTAINING

OUR COMMUNITY SINCE 1953

2019 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

FOR SIXTY-SEVEN YEARS, CIRCLE THEATRE HAS

ENRICHED OUR COMMUNITY BY TELLING STORIES -

EXQUISITE STORIES -

IN A SETTING THAT IS CHARMING, INTIMATE,

AND EXCEPTIONAL.

WE HAVE EDUCATED MINDS BOTH YOUNG

AND OLD, INSPIRED PEOPLE IN VARIOUS WALKS OF LIFE

THAT THEATRE IS A THING OF BEAUTY.

WE HAVE ACHIEVED GREAT FEATS, AND OUR FUTURE LOOKS

BRIGHTER THAN EVER. IT IS

A FUTURE WE WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU.

Theatre is magical for me.

While I sit in the dark, I can be

transformed to another place,

often to places I have never

been in my own mind. It makes

me think, as it entertains me.

The combination of the two

helps me to retain that which

I have learned... about issues

or myself. I have also learned

that there is value in pure

entertainment.”

- David Weinandy, PhD.

Professor of Communication, Aquinas College

Past President, Circle Theatre Board of Directors

Since the early 1950s, Circle Theatre has been dedicated to producing exceptional live

theatre for our audiences using only those artists in our own community. We believe

investing in West Michigan artists and audiences - a flourishing network of people who

support each other and our theatre - will ensure the future of Circle to produce

quality entertainment for our community. We strive to enrich West Michigan by

providing jobs and volunteer opportunities, scholarships, a creative outlet, and a

collaborative environment. Nestled in the heart of Aquinas College’s beautiful,

leafy campus in Grand Rapids - Circle Theatre is the perfect place

to bring the community together during the spring and summer months.

MAIN STAGE SERIES

The spotlight of our May-September season, the Main Stage Series has

featured classics and premieres, comedies and dramas, heartbreakers and tearjerkers.

Each summer we present three musicals and two plays, with

1-2 titles selected by our Audience Choice Ballot, unique to Grand Rapids.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Circle's annual Concert Series features a diverse group of the finest vocalists

and musicians in the area performing a wide variety of

styles and genres. Our intimate setting offers audiences an up close and

personal live music experience exclusively presented by Circle Theatre.

MAGIC CIRCLE

For 50 years and counting, we have focused on classic children's stories

and fairy tales re-imagined for a modern, family audience. We invite all

young people to experience the magic of live theatre.

CIRCLE PRESENTS

Recognized as the largest presenting organization for schools and

families in West Michigan, we offer nationally award-winning productions

throughout the academic year that pair with grade school curriculum.

OUR MISSION? To ENRICH, ENTERTAIN, and EDUCATE our community

through exceptional theatrical arts in an intimate setting.

THIS IS WHO WE ARE. THIS IS CIRCLE.

“At Circle, I’m equally

at home as an audience

member as I am

a production

team member

or crew member.

Regardless if I'm

backstage,

in the booth,

or sitting in

the audience,

I’m always right

where I belong at

Circle Theatre.”

- Kieran Smith

Circle Theatre Stage Manager

The Performing Arts Center is a unique facility shared

by Circle Theatre, Aquinas College, and Catholic

Secondary Schools of Grand Rapids in a collaborative

partnership. The stadium-style seating accommodates

more than 400 guests, and the thrust stage - the only of

its kind in West Michigan - offers an intimate immersive

experience with audience members seated around 3/4

of the stage. On site is a large dressing room, costume

shop, scene shop, rehearsal hall, and reception space.

And the people who contribute their talents to Circle?

Many of them stay right here in Grand Rapids making

theatre a big part of their lives, while dozens of Circle

Theatre alumni are currently living and working as

theatre professionals in Chicago, Los Angeles, New

York City, on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on television,

and in national touring productions.

Circle Theatre offers a unique

viewing opportunity for the

audience. The thrust stage

allows the audience to

become more intimate with

the characters and the

production; it challenges

the directors, actors, and

production team like no

other theatre in town.”

SPONSORSHIP ACTIVATION TEAM

We’re ready for a wild and wonderful 2019 and we want to take you along for the ride! This season we’re touching on family

dynamics, socioeconomic struggles in a rural area, exploring friendship between an unlikely pair - and of course, we’re also going

to do a lot of laughing! Our 67th season features a dynamic and diverse lineup of quality productions, including a brand new title,

as well as multiple Michigan and citywide premieres. We’ll also present a play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts. In

addition, we’re bringing back a beloved favorite that captured the hearts of our Circle patrons.

We promise that when you become a sponsor with Circle Theatre in 2019, you’ll discover new ways to enrich, educate and entertain

both your clients and your community. And your team? The people and minds that make your business what it is? We welcome

them, and you, into our Circle family. The minds and hearts of your own audience will be expanded in the very best of ways. You will

all experience first-hand the magic of live theatre. By being a part of it… it will become a part of you.

We’re dedicated to helping you shape a sponsorship that showcases who you are, what you do, and why you fit with Circle Theatre.

those who you choose to experience Circle with.

What sounds exciting to you?

What is important to you?

We’ll find a way to make that a part of it.

Like we said… There’s much to discover. What are you waiting for?
