Captains Report

BENONI LAKE CLUB

Thanks to all the Nomads that entered and played at the Lake Club, Benoni

(LCB) game. Fortunately, we were blessed with a fantastic summers day, with little or no wind! It was great having a National

sponsor, Ricu Viljoen: Europcar, at our Monthly game . Thanks to Gary Hewitt, LCB Captain, for joining the Nomads for the

day and for being part of my fourball.

A word of thanks to LCB members for giving up their course to the Nomads for the afternoon. The course was in good condition

considering we are just coming out of a long, dry winter. Greens are coming along nicely, having only recently being

hollow tined! The new “Captains Bridge” between the 16 th and 17 th hole is a nice new addition and will look great once completed!

Keep up the great work Wes and your team!

In true Easterns spirit, the Prize giving was delayed so as to allow everyone the opportunity to watch the Rugby- SA vs NZ!

These type of occurrences right in the middle of monthly prize giving really make it difficult as a captain to keep everyone

happy and I thank you for your patience and understanding. A big Thank you to LCB for setting up the big screen in the hall

for us to watch the game!

Congratulations to our new inductees Steven Dry , Wikus Nel and the introduction of Chris Froneman from Northerns. I hope

you have many years of Eastern Nomadic spirit. On a serious note, there is 30 % of Easterns Nomads who have never introduced

a friend or golfing buddy to Nomads. Easterns am sure we can improve on this statistic.

To those Easterns that attended the Botswana nationals - Thanks for joining me. Once again Easterns did very well in coming

home with a number of prizes as divisional winners and overall divisional winners with JIMMY top of the list. Congratulation’s

to Jimmy, Wimpie and Joe on great results! To Vic and Robbie for the loan of their crew busses and the dedicated drivers

Mike and Warren - thanks for the support and help. Tim Calvert, Steve Smith & the team from Botswana put together a really

great tournament and I encourage more Easterns players to take up the challenge and enter this competition next year! Team

SA emerged as the winners of the tournament!.

A Natex Management meeting was held at Erinvale on the weekend of the 29-30 th of September to coincide with Boland

monthly game! Easterns received a special mention and was recognised as a high profile club in SA Nomads! Well done to all

Easterns members and the Committees that have steered the club to this level!

Dates and upcoming events:

The Fire thorn nationals entry is closing on the 31 st of October so get your entries in ASAP! Submit to Jimmy

: jimmyw.s48@gmail.com or Terry msecretary@easternsnomads.co.za along with your POP.

Mystery tour entries will be coming out later this month! Please keep a look out for it and enter!

Good luck to the Eastern’s players who will be traveling to Swaziland on the weekend of 19-21 October for the Swazi Nationals.

Don’t forget your bring along your WHITE Team SA shirt and your passport!

Please remember to put your entries in for the Modderfontein game on the 18 th of November.

challenge game played off club handicaps.

This is our Konica Minolta

To my committee, a BIG Thank You for all the support and the extra mile that you put into Eastern’s Nomads on a monthly

basis. On behalf of all Easterns Nomads, we thank you!

PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THE MISSION STATEMENT FOR 2018

TO ENCOURAGE THE GAME OF GOLF AS A SOURCE OF SERVICE. TO MEET OTHER NOMADS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, ONCE

A MONTH, TO BUILD FRIENDSHIPS WHILE PLAYING GOLF.

We wish to Thank our National Sponsors
