Hunters Hill vet offers a charming
venue and a home visit mobile van
A NEW veterinary clinic based in a charming Hunters Hill cottage is offering a special
home visit service.
Dr Jamie Kit Robey and Dom McAllister are pictured with Buddy at the cottage
in Aurburn Street, Hunters Hill. TWT on-the-spot PHOTO
Based in the heritage
cottage at 22 Auburn
Street, the new Ultra-
Vets home visit service
is a modern veterinary
service staffed by experienced
veterinarian
Dr Jamie Kit Robey and
nurse Dom McAllister
who appreciate that
animals - like people -
respond better to treatment
in a friendly and
caring home environment.
“Your own home is a
very low stress environment
here and you
don’t have the smell of
fear from other animals
that you get at animal
hospitals or the smell
of disease or the risk of
your pet catching a disease
in a clinical waiting
room,” Dr Robey
said.
“Of course, in serious
cases we have a partnership
with a number
of Sydney hospitals but
significantly we have a
home visit service with
portable equipment
that works around your
schedule in the greater
Sydney region and
eliminates transport
anxiety for your pet or
any pain associated
with transport.”
“Not only to pets feel
safer in their own territory,
our mobile vet
service also saves the
owner time and taking
time off work because
we work weekends and
evenings up to 7pm.”
A principle behind
the compassionate
and caring work of Dr
Robey and nurse McAllister
is their sensitivity
and kindness to owners
as well as their pets.
“You never just treat
an animal, you are there
for the owners as well
and this is another reason
why owners love
our service,” he said.
“Indeed, we are here
for their entire family
because pet owners
know their pet is a
beloved member of the
family and the best pet
in the world.
“We share that belief
too.”
The most commonly
treated pets are cats,
dogs and rabbits and
every home or cottage
visit offers a rewarding
experience.
Does one experience
stand out ?
“I went to a home for
the birth of some puppies
and when I saw
them again as adults
dogs they recognised
me as someone who
was there for them
from the very start of
the lives, that was a
particularly rewarding
experience for me,” he
said.
“Pet dentistry can
be very rewarding because
animals get
toothache as painful
as a human toothache
and once the they’ve
been treated they
come back completely
different animals, so
that experience is very
rewarding.
“Animal behaviour is
something I’m very involved
in and we can
look at behavioural issues,
such as they way
or disguise problems
so it is important to
have your cat treated
by someone who has
With four degrees and
“I aim to build a close
relationship with pets
and their owners and to
be there to offer advice
over the phone as well
as for annual, half yearly
or weekly checks
hide
experience with cats.”
a host of honours, Dr
Robey has this extensive
