WORLD-CLASS MEGA-ARENAS<br />
FOR BKK<br />
It’s a thrill indeed, as two premium arenas in<br />
Bangkok – EM LIVE and The Bangkok Arena<br />
– are set to debut, serving as mega stadiums<br />
for entertainment, sports and events that<br />
can host anywhere from 6,000 to 16,000<br />
people. Both are expected to open in 2022<br />
and 2023 respectively.<br />
Behind the projects is The Mall Group,<br />

category of MICE (Meetings, Incentives,<br />
Conferences and Exhibitions) and new lifestyle<br />

ROLL UP TO THE BIG TOP<br />
After a decade, the stars of the Great Moscow<br />
Circus make their long-awaited return to<br />
Singapore. Recognised as one of the best<br />
touring circuses in the world, this time around<br />
over 45 performers are due to entertain under<br />
the big top, including acrobats, clowns, jugglers<br />
as well as daredevils.<br />
Renowned for their theatrical flair and<br />
breath-taking performances, the Great Moscow<br />
Circus is set to showcase several<br />
death-defying acts including<br />
the Wheel of Death and<br />
the Motorbike Sphere of<br />
Fear. But there will be no<br />
shortage of laughs<br />
and guffaws as well,<br />
making it a fun-filled<br />
destination for the<br />

JOURNEY OF LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS<br />
A Rattanakosin skilled master, National Artist<br />
Chakrabhand Posayakrit is showcasing his<br />
masterpieces for the first time in 15 years.<br />
The <strong>Thai</strong> legendary artist’s collections include<br />
drawings, sculptures as well as a highlight<br />
collection of traditional <strong>Thai</strong> puppets which<br />
he has spent time and effort collecting and<br />
preserving. His first generation of puppetry<br />
Phra Aphai Mani along with latter ones like<br />
Sam Kok (Three Kingdoms) and Taleng Phai<br />
will also be featured in the exhibition. Due<br />
to limited space and large scope of the<br />
exhibit, audiences are requested to submit<br />
a request to schedule a visit in advanced.<br />
The Chakrabhand Posayakrit Exhibition will<br />
rotate every 4 months until 25 <strong>Dec</strong>ember<br />

INK AND WOOD<br />
Two distinct Chinese art disciplines are on<br />
show at the Liang Yi Museum in a special<br />
exhibition titled, “Ink and Wood: Modern<br />
Chinese Paintings in the Scholar’s Studio.”<br />
The exhibit will bring together 24 exquisite<br />
modern Chinese paintings from a private<br />
collection, as well as a total of 240 objects<br />
from Liang Yi Museum’s classical Ming and<br />
Qing dynasties antique collection.<br />
The exhibited artefacts in Ink and Wood:<br />
Modern Chinese Paintings in the Scholar’s<br />
Studio are rendered as both mutually exclusive<br />
and as interconnected components spanning<br />
Chinese art history. This inter-disciplinary<br />
exhibition not only juxtaposes classical<br />
Chinese furniture alongside modern Chinese<br />
paintings with references to history, but it<br />
also provides visitors a chance to explore<br />
the artistic traditions of furniture making<br />

KUALA LUMPUR<br />
ROCK TO GUNS N’ ROSES<br />
Legendary rockers Guns N’ Roses are making<br />
their return to the capital city of Malaysia for a<br />
one-night only gig as part of their ‘Not In This<br />
Lifetime Tour’. This time around though, the<br />
band will boast the classic line-up of Axl Rose,<br />
Slash and Duff McKagan, who last performed<br />
together during the band’s ‘Use Your Illusion<br />
Tour’ way back in 1993.<br />
The prospect of seeing these legendary<br />
rockers reuniting on stage in Kuala Lumpur will<br />
indeed be special as Guns N’ Roses will only<br />
make stopovers in selected Asian cities. The<br />
‘Not In This Lifetime Tour’ has already garnered<br />
rave reviews from The Washington Times and<br />
Rolling Stone, who proclaimed the concert tour<br />
as “a triumphant return of one of the most<br />
important bands of rock music history.”<br />

CAMBODIA<br />
WATER FESTIVAL<br />
At the end of <strong>Nov</strong>ember, Cambodians across<br />
the country celebrate Bon Om Touk, which<br />
marks the end of the rainy season. Held on the<br />
full moon of the Buddhist month of Kadeuk,<br />
the celebration is one of the most important<br />
on the Cambodian calendar.As such, people<br />
across the country come together to partake<br />
in the festivities that take place for three<br />
straight days.<br />
Across the nation, Cambodians celebrate<br />
Bon Om Touk with musical and dance<br />
performances as well as boat races and<br />
parades. The festival also sees local festive<br />
treats being prepared, most notably, Ak Ambok,<br />
which consists of ground rice, banana and<br />
coconut. As evening falls, illuminated boats<br />
take to the rivers lending a colourful motif to<br />
the celebration with some major towns also<br />
lighting up their skies with fireworks displays.<br />
