PRESIDENT’S YOUNG TALENTS 2018
4 October 2018 – 27 January 2019
Singapore Art Museum
From an artwork that enfolds historical and mythical narratives in realms representing
Heaven, Earth and the Underworld, to an installation of a “family portrait” of the
artist’s and her relatives’ scars, welded and drawn onto sheets of metal, Singapore Art
Museum’s latest exhibition features the works of five emerging Singaporean artists, all
under the age of 35.
SAM’s President’s Young Talents programme and exhibition recognises artists
whose artistic practices chart new dimensions in contemporary art. The themes and
topics of these artists’ immersive, thought-provoking artworks – spanning paintings,
sculpture, performance and new media – are further explored through a series of
artist performances, curator tours, talks and workshops, taking place throughout the
exhibition period.
Oh, and here’s a tip – entry to SAM is free for all every Friday from 6pm to 9pm, so
drop by the museum then and make it a date! Don’t forget to cast your vote for your
favourite artwork to win the People’s Choice Award too!
