Do you have any superstitions before, during, or after a match? Before a match I always look at the flag and identify the five outer stars on each corner. So like, in my head, on the left corner, there’s like the star in the middle and then four stars around it and I like go around it with my eyes in a circle. And then I go to the next corner ... It’s super weird. But I do it every time during the national anthem. What’s one thing people don’t know about you? I used to have pet snails in third grade. I had probably around 20. What’s the biggest difference between playing water polo and volleyball? They’re very similar. Very similar. I mean there’s the obvious one which is it’s not in water, playing volleyball. But yeah, water polo can be a very individual sport. Like you can have one really good player, but volleyball you need six good players to be effective. What’s one item on your bucket list? To go skydiving. What’s one of your biggest pet peeves? People chewing really loudly. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I would definitely go to Spain with my dad, because he went with his sister, and like totally traveled around and he said it was really cool. So, I would totally wanna go with him when I’m older. What’s the best part about being a Loyola athlete? I think the fan base. Loyola has such a good fan base and they always show up. Especially for our big games and the program really supports each other, and other programs support each other, especially girls sports. Yeah. What’s the best part about playing volleyball? It’s team sport and yeah. 22nd Century Media File Photo It teaches you to work with other people, even if you don’t know them, or you’re getting to know them. If you could play another sport what would you play and why? I would definitely continue playing basketball. I miss playing basketball. What’s been your favorite moment at Loyola? My favorite moment at Loyola was definitely going down state for water polo. That was the highest level of competition, well like obviously beside volleyball, but it was something completely random. No one expected us to be so good. And we were the complete underdog. Took everyone by surprise. And yeah, it was a group effort. It was, Oh my gosh it was so hard, but it was amazing. I’ve never experienced anything like it.
