When Lockport resident Teresa Bahryjczuk opened the restaurant in September 2018, she knew she wanted it to become a gathering place for families in the community. “The biggest thing about our restaurant is that it is more of a family-style restaurant,” Teresa said. “We provide home-cooked meals. The food here is made to order from our kitchen to your table.” At Diamond’s Family Restaurant, the food is made from scratch, with the exception of a few appetizers. “I take pride in serving fresh, not frozen foods,” Teresa said. The menu at Diamond’s Family Restaurant is large and can be categorized as American traditional. While there are a variety of offerings on the menu, Teresa said their most popular items are the halfpound, hand-packed burger ($8.95), flat-iron steak sandwich ($11.49) and the Diamond chopped salad ($12.49). The offerings don’t stop there. Diamond’s Family Restaurant sets itself apart with its daily lunch buffet. The buffet is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and is $6.99 for adults and $4.99 for children 10 and younger. On top of that, the restaurant also offers daily specials. On Mondays, stop in for a po’boy sandwich ($8.95), which is a beef patty served on garlic bread with grilled onions, American cheese and your choice of side. Tuesdays are taco night. Come for a Taco Dinner ($6.95), which includes three beef or chicken tacos, topped with cheese and cilantro, and served with a bed of lettuce, tomato rice and beans. Add steak for an extra $2. Diamond Family Restaurant’s famous halfpound, hand-packed burger is on special for $5 on Wednesdays. The burger comes with a choice of french fries, tater tots or a side salad. Add cheese for $1 or upgrade your side for an additional charge. Fresh bone-in or boneless wings ($5) are on special every Thursday. Then, customers can come right back on Friday for the Malibu chicken sandwich ($8.95), which is a grilled chicken breast with ham, Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato, all served on a bun with a choice of side. Saturday is chicken Parmesan sandwich night ($8.95). The classic is made with hand-breaded chicken breast, marinara sauce, and mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on a bun with a choice of side. The week ends on Sunday with the Italian beef sandwich ($8.95). In an effort to give back to the community that supports Diamond’s, Teresa donates 10 percent of the restaurant’s Tuesday sales to a local charity or school. “I am a strong believer in supporting the local small businesses,” she said. “I am really big at giving back to the community, because the community is what keeps us alive.” Teresa welcomes families to her restaurant for the holiday season and said there is something for everyone. While children are waiting on their food, they can play a number of games at the restaurant. Diamond’s Family Restaurant and Bar is a full, sit-down restaurant, with carryout and delivery options through DoorDash and Uber Eats.
