1. Aligned career training and workforce<br />
development as a statewide strategic priority, with<br />
activities to recognize Registered Apprenticeships<br />
as a vital component to increase the number of<br />
Nevadans in high-quality jobs.<br />
2. OWINN engaged in and organized dozens of<br />
community activities and events statewide on<br />
education and workforce initiatives, connecting with<br />
hundreds of Nevadans to increase awareness of the<br />
state’s workforce vision and relevant resources.<br />
3. OWINN received $80,000 and was<br />
selected to participate in the National<br />
Governors Association’s Work-Based<br />
Learning Policy Academy to scale<br />
Work-Based Learning for young adults.<br />
4. Nevada was selected to participate in<br />
the Occupational Licensing Policy and<br />
Practice Learning Consortium.<br />
5. OWINN partnered with education administrators<br />
through the Public Education Foundation’s<br />
Executive Leadership Program to analyze strategies<br />
and solutions to increase the number of CTE<br />
licensed teachers in high-demand industries. Final<br />
recommendations were adopted by the Commission<br />
on Professional Standards in Education.<br />
6. Provided career exploration<br />
opportunities during National<br />
Apprenticeship Week for dozens of<br />
high school students to learn about<br />
Registered Apprenticeships.<br />
7. Developed new data visualizations<br />
and user interface mock ups to<br />
improve NPWR report appeal and<br />
performance.<br />
