1. Aligned career training and workforce
development as a statewide strategic priority, with
activities to recognize Registered Apprenticeships
as a vital component to increase the number of
Nevadans in high-quality jobs.
2. OWINN engaged in and organized dozens of
community activities and events statewide on
education and workforce initiatives, connecting with
hundreds of Nevadans to increase awareness of the
state’s workforce vision and relevant resources.
3. OWINN received $80,000 and was
selected to participate in the National
Governors Association’s Work-Based
Learning Policy Academy to scale
Work-Based Learning for young adults.
4. Nevada was selected to participate in
the Occupational Licensing Policy and
Practice Learning Consortium.
5. OWINN partnered with education administrators
through the Public Education Foundation’s
Executive Leadership Program to analyze strategies
and solutions to increase the number of CTE
licensed teachers in high-demand industries. Final
recommendations were adopted by the Commission
on Professional Standards in Education.
6. Provided career exploration
opportunities during National
Apprenticeship Week for dozens of
high school students to learn about
Registered Apprenticeships.
7. Developed new data visualizations
and user interface mock ups to
improve NPWR report appeal and
performance.
