with the innovative SHIFT
programme and kickstart your
SHIFT uses immersive studio-based learning and real-world industry experience to produce graduates with
a solid base of core computing skills, as well as communication and employability skills required in today’s
collaborative workplaces. SHIFT includes opportunities to meet and work with local tech industry employers;
industry visits, group projects designed and
mentored by industry, and a 200-hour industry
Opportunities
With tech roles existing in nearly every area from
Through the SHIFT programme, learners can focus
on software design and development, or allied
roles, such as business analyst, data scientist, web
designer, project manager, user experience designer,
technical writer, sales and client support . . . and the
SIGNAL’s SHIFT programme transitions graduates
from any discipline into tech. Many new and mature
graduates are considering tech as a viable and lucrative
career option, and this is increasing as the range
of roles within tech becomes more widely known.
Diversity of background and experiences is
welcomed in the tech sector. It is strongly recognised that it takes many viewpoints to best design products that meet customer
requirements, and tech firms are actively recruiting to address gender and ethnic imbalances across their employees.
Harry’s Story
Harry Taylor is a Masters of Management graduate, who
studied changes in workplaces and societies around the
these changes, I knew I had to be a part of the future.
When I came across Signal it stood out as the perfect
gateway for me into the tech sector. A professional
setting where I’d be exposed to the wide range of skills
and positions vital to the industry.”
Harry has just joined the RCG Creations team full-time
his industry project. This team is involved in the local
Education IT sector, and provide services including
their Agile Management. I also helped to automate
some office processes to improve their workflow, and
worked alongside the software development team on
Orbica’s new product, making it ready for production
by testing, diagnosing and fixing bugs”. Sakinah is
