The Family Selection team had selected two<br />
partner families. One was the Diaz family, a<br />
single mother with two children, and the other<br />
was the Parsons family, a disabled and retired<br />
veteran with his two service dogs. HFHWD<br />
obtained two lots next door to each other. They<br />
are located at 129 and 141 30th Street, Ogden,<br />
UT. By luck and fortune, the two selected partner<br />
families ended up being neighbors.<br />
The groundbreaking ceremony for both families<br />
was held on April 11th, 2017.<br />
The original plan was to build the two homes<br />
within 4 to 6 months. However, there were many<br />
obstacles pertaining to the location of the two<br />
Habitat Homes.<br />

We were about 130 days out due to permits. It<br />
wasn't until around July 2017 that we were able to<br />
start construction for the Diaz family.<br />
We appreciate volunteers, community members,<br />
business donors, and other supporters for helping<br />
our affiliate build the two new Habitat Homes.<br />
The Diaz family was able to move into their home<br />
on December 22nd, 2017. The Parsons family<br />
was able to have their home dedication on<br />
February 3rd, 2018.
